Did you notice when the.. I think it was "The University Store" closed down?
That was kinda a neat place.. Lots of college merchandise. Perhaps a bad location.. Something like that would probably do best in a mall, but.. I thought that place would make it.
I recall a few years ago going in there and (I'm gonna get beeped here) sending a text to a cousin asking him "Do you want an 8 foot inflatable ****(y) for Christmas?"
I don't think The University Shop is closed. That is a different space than the former Fresh Market. I googled it and it shows it's open today. Where is it posted that it closed?
There is a store similar in the mall called Locker Room which is owned by Lids.

I was over there yesterday, and unless I'm just totally mis-remembering where it was (Between the Fresh Market Space and Bi-Lo).. The signage is gone for it and it didn't look like they were there.

No Facebook posts by them since October 27, 2015.
Yep. That's where it was located. I called and they are still open in the same location.
White Duck Taco Shop, which opened its first brick and mortar restaurant in the River Arts District of Asheville, will open a location in Greenville this winter, according to White Duck co-owner, Ben Mixson.
The restaurant will be located at the Hampton Station development at 1320 Hampton Ave. The complex also houses the new brewery, Birds Fly South, which opened earlier this month.
White Duck Taco Shop will occupy an about 2,500-square-foot space with ample outdoor seating next door to the brewery.
Kmart has just announced they are closing some 64 more stores by the end of October. They are not even waiting on the Christmas shopping season. I wonder if any remaining Upstate locations will face closure.

No. I saw the list yesterday. Nothing in SC is on the list.
I read a story as well that Sears isn't expected to make it to Christmas. They're that strapped for cash.
Here's the list

And here's a variation of the story I read shortly before the latest closings were announced.
Well apparently the remaining Kmart stores in Greenville and Mauldin will survive for now. Perhaps they perform well, although they are way overdue for renovation as compared to Walmart or Target. The stores look worn and dated from the 1970s.
As for Sears, I think Haywood is still one of their better stores, but not sure about Spartanburg.
I hate to say Sears Holdings may be down to one banner by the end of the year. Sears is the strongest banner, and Kmart is the weakest banner. I see one last "Blue Light Special" coming.
Tenji Japanese Cuisine is having its grand opening today in the former Travinia Italian Kitchen location at 1625 Woodruff Rd. next to Wendy's. The banner and Facebook page both say "All You Can Order Sushi, Only One Price," whatever that means. The web site (www.tenjisc.com) is Error 404: Not Found, but the Facebook page (//www.facebook.com/Tenji-Japane...7302587362040/) is up to date. I hope this place manages to last longer than the previous tenant, Angelo's Greek & Italian Cuisine.

Apparently all you can order means all you can eat, but not buffet style - you place an order for (max 2 items i think) and they bring it to you, then when you're done you can order more items, and so forth, sort of like the soup and salad buffet at olive garden. You are charged a surcharge if you leave any food uneaten (which is pretty standard practice at sushi restaurants with this type of service). I have no idea how much the all you can order 'buffet' costs though. Hopefully $15.
