Although Ingle's #42, Whatley Square, 116 West Butler Road, Mauldin, South Carolina 29662-2535, is not being replaced by a new store, the additions of the pharmacy and Ingle's Gas Express are good enough to be competitive.
Three other Ingle's stores in Greenville County should have replacement stores on the way:
The Mauldin Ingles needs more than Gas and Pharmacy. It needs a total overhaul to get rid of the 90's. Wonder why Ingles has not improved their existing stores or replacements on that side of Greenville County for so long. The stores on the other side of Greenville County are much nicer like TR, Cherrydale and Stallings Rd. I'm surprised they never put a store on the eastside or the Pelham Rd area as well.

I do not know why Ingle's Markets has delayed improving its older Greenville County stores through complete renovations and replacements and not increasing store count countywide. It has missed out on opportunities along East North Street/Old Spartanburg Road, Pelham Road, and Woodruff Road.
I contacted the Ingle's company some years back and all but begged them to put a store on the east side - Specifically the Five Forks area. They replied to say they weren't interested.
Though it is out of the way for me, I would shop at the Whatley Square store more often if it were to be replaced or even simply updated. Meanwhile, I make it a point to stop by the Ingle's stores on Stallings road in Greenville County and at 290 & 296 in Spartanburg County whenever I am in those particular neighborhoods. It is sad that Ingle's Markets isn't interested in realizing the untapped potential that is waiting for them in the Upstate.
I see a long string of posts about In-N-Out being the top burger chain. I have been in Phoenix for over two months and I've had In-N-Out Burger about three times just to see what the hype was about. I have to say I wasn't really impressed. In-N-Out was okay, but only had three milkshake flavors and very limited burger menu. The fries are shoe string width, and the burger buns are...well...burger buns. But to each's own I guess. I think most people who say In-N-Out is amazing have never tried places like Cookout that are more east-coast centric.
I much prefer Cookout's 50 plus milkshakes selection and their meal options for a total of $6 or less. If they spread west, In-N-Out would not be doing as well as they are, just my opinion.
people just like cook out because it's cheap. The food is mediocre.
Cookout is not that bad depending on what you get. I don't care for the cheap buns but the burger itself isn't bad and the grilled chicken (they call it the regular chicken I believe on the combo tray) is the best I have had anywhere IMO including Chickfila. I like the cole slaw too at Cookout as a side which CFA dropped.
