I know North Greenville University is a dry campus, which means no alcohol whatsoever is permitted anywhere on campus.
In regards to not being permitted to go to restaurants that serve alcohol, I do not know about it. Anyone should still be able to go to a restaurant and order food. He or she can abstain from purchasing alcohol with his or her meal.
Wild Ace Pizza and Pub had additional reasons for leaving the Tigerville community. The location was not doing well as hoped. Its owners also owned Acme General Store in Greer, which did not do very well. The Spartanburg location was close to opening, and the decision was made to concentrate focus into it.
I don't know if there's any truth to the rumor, but I heard that NGU students weren't allowed to go to Wild Ace because they sold alcohol. Nate's does not, and I don't think they plan to.
This is absolutely true. This also applies to staff & faculty all the way down to the maintenance department. I know someone that worked there and they are not allowed to venture into any bar type establishment that serves alcoholic beverages of any kind. Students will be expelled (I think) and employees are terminated if caught.

I've heard the same thing in regards to NGU telling employees not to go to Wild Ace.
Walmart is converting all Express stores, both current and future locations, over to Neighborhood Market. Walmart #1250 will now be a Neighborhood Market.

It still doesn't change the square footage on the smaller stores around 12,000 square ft. No way they could carry the selection of a larger typical 30,000-40,000 square foot neighborhood market. Guess they thought all the names were confusing.
I will give Walmart credit for wanting to create a smaller chain aimed at both dollar stores and drugstores with Express. Neighborbood Market can still provide the necessities of food and pharmacy in a store not too large and not too small.
To an extent, names could be confusing. An example would be Winn Dixie's Marketplace stores. Introduced in 1984 in Valdosta, Georgia, Marketplace stores were to be a step above ordinary Winn Dixie stores. As they appeared throughout the region in the 1990's, all stores had the current currents, and there was no difference between Winn Dixie and Winn Dixie Marketplace. Today, all Winn Dixie Marketplace stores have reverted back to Winn Dixie. A similar example to Winn Dixie Marketplace would be Super Bi-Lo.
What is getting built next to Walmart in Powdersville?
I wish I knew for sure. Keep hearing about Chik-fil-A but I thought that was on the lot just across from the QT that is going up. Not sure if Chik-fil-A is in the spot with the newly graded lot or if something else is going in there.
