Alright.. I know I'm late on this - my normal computer (with EVERY link) has been temporarily taken.... So I don't have as much information as I usually would.

Friday is a bad day for men in Hampton Roads! At the Fully Confident Restwear in Newport News, there will be Great Fit Great Fashion Day! Women will get to enjoy professional bra fitting and style fitting. These people will not only measure, but also fit you into a bra perfect for you! They will also be taking donations for the American Cancer Society. This is one event I would love to attend, but I've other plans. I can tell you first hand that the people at Fully Confident are extremely professional, friendly, and absolutely wonderful!

Saturday is our Official Clean the Bay Day! There are a large number of locations for people to gather... but this is one of the biggest Community Service Events that is held around here.

Also on Saturday, the Williamsburg Community Building is holding the Giant Paella and Sangria Festival!! Click here for ticket ordering and other information (http://www.tienda.com/paellafestival/ - broken link).

That's all I have for now.. I should be able to find out more when I get my old work computer back.

Another tidbit, Mt. Trashmore has their month long carnival thing.

I don't know how I forgot to type this up, but this weekend is also HarborFest down at Towne Point Park! I do have to make mention that the city of Norfolk is going to be monitoring all festivals a little more closely - as there were over 12 noise and safety violations in last week's Afr'am festival.

Alright. This week, my computer is back and Kuharai is in full force to make sure that your father's day weekend is a blast. Saturday is jam packed with fun activities for people everywhere!

First off, for Friday, we have the 5th Annual ABNB Fishing Festival to Benefit CHKD (http://www.abnbfcu.org/forms/fishing-2008.asp - broken link). All gear will be provided, but you can most certainly bring your own stuff! Registration starts at 7am and the boat leaves at 8am. Once aboard, breakfast will be served; and once the boat comes back to port, all patrons can enjoy free food courtesy of the Outback Steakhouse. ((I wish I wasn't working....))

And what a great way to celebrate father's day weekend than to ogle the guys at the Mr. 757 Model Search event? Come see the 21 finalists at the Granby Theatre in Norfolk this Saturday starting at 730pm. Personal fans will not be provided

Need to embarass a father (and your child) before his special day? Convince him to go to the Bass Pro Shops in Hampton for a Father's Day Olympics! Teams will be complete with a father and one child for a six event mini-olympics with many prizes up for grabs. The hilarity begins at 10am, so be sure to come early! Sources also tell me that families can enter a secondary contest to win a Toyota Sequioa (with these kind of gas prices?).

Remember how I mentioned the large number of Wine Events in Hampton Roads? Head to the Lee Hall Mansion in Newport News this Saturday between 11am and 6pm to see what I mean. Wine, dine and learn about the history of this beautiful home.

Have a father or child interested in watching a Martial Arts tournament? This Saturday, go to the Lake Taylor High School in Norfolk to witness the 2008 Battle of the 7 Cities Martial Arts Championships. Come and support these galant athletes compete in forms, sparring, and weaponry. It's sure to be quite a show. Competition starts at 11am with the Weapons Division. ((I'm sure a few people I know will be competing))

The Founder's Inn on Indian River Road in Virginia Beach is holding a Father's Day Brunch on Sunday between 11am and 3pm. The menu for this already has my mouth watering. So instead of flipping patties, he'll sit down to grilled burgers and dogs, Italian sausage smothered in onions, ribeye steak and breakfast dishes to boot. Not to mention sources say that guys with be given an awesome Spa Certificate that even includes a MANicure! Have a military dad? If so, he gets to eat free of charge!

Now here's an exclusive! If you've got a baseball dad on your list to treat, our beloved Norfolk Tides are facing off against the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees at Harbor Park. Better yet, why not view the game from an exclusive seat provided by SunTrust for a small Party at the Park (http://www.cacv.org/events/atasteforart.asp#partyatthepark - broken link)! ((Note: This special offer is available for only 18 people!!))

And finally for Sunday, check out the Father's Day Surf and Turf at the York River State Park in Williamsburg! Starting at 4pm, use either a canoe or kayak to coast along the shores of the beautiful York River over to Fossil Beach. From there, you get to dig for fossils and then paddle back to your vehicle. ((Since the event ends at 6pm, you could easily follow-up with a nice dinner))

Quick question about these event postings... should I start making posts about up and coming concerts for the weekend as well?

Not sure if I can post this here, but I have 3 free lawn tickets to the Pearl Jam concert Tuesday 17 June. My wife and her two friends will be out of town but I'm still going to the concert alone. If anyone wants to join me for free, just send me an email. I got the tickets on base for $5 each, but I think they cost $42 online or at the door.

I didn't post many music events because I didn't know if people wanted them as well... If you'd like I can post some popular upcoming concerts and other musical events.
