I am intrigued with figuring out where all the scenes are filmed. Hope it is ok that I started this thread about the show.

Where is the prison located in this week's episode? (October 13th)

The scenery is absolutely breathtaking!!

The scenes are filmed mostly on Oahu. This is why myself and many other local residents that I know want the new Hawaii Five O to succeed, because it would contribute millions of dollars to the local economy.

I was walking past the main bus stop at the intersection of Punchbowl and Beretania last Monday at 7am and Hawaii Five O was filming a scene at the State Capital which is across the bus stop.

The prison is Halawa Correctional Facility which is located in the suburb of Honolulu called Aiea. Here is the official State of Hawaii link about this prision: Halawa Correctional Facility — Department of Public Safety

It would be nice if there was more scenery in the new Hawaii 5-0. There's glimpses but sometimes you can't see much other than the actors. We always like trying to figure out where they are. I suppose the new Hawaii 5-0 has a harder time finding scenery, though, since Oahu has been so built up since the first series was shot.

We don't generally watch much TV around here, but I think we've seen all the new Hawaii 5-0s.

Thanks, Honolulu 21. I didn't know there was a prison there. I played that portion of the program in slow motion trying to figure out where it was just over the mountains from Honolulu.

I think it will help tourism. I read on Twitter people saying they miss Hawaii or want to come to visit.

The folks at Hawaiian Airlines are betting on it, considering that they are a co-sponsor of the show.

For someone who doesn't watch TV very often you sure are online a lot.
