I have several problems that can keep me awake:

Restless leg syndrome, which ranges from "my leg feels funny" to active twitching. I take iron supplements, and sometimes use a TENS machine.

Leg cramps: magnesium

Just plain awake, or mild pain: half a pot gummy.

I used to use Benadryl, until I read that it may be implicated in dementia.

I've also tried melatonin, camomile, and valerian root. None worked particularly well for me.

I don't eat later than 6 pm, either. That seems to make a difference.

Right, I haven't taken Benadryl for years because of the dementia issue. I think I was coming from a place of desperation.

You know, this could be as simple as using a different coffee grind. I always buy the Costco Colombian, but I ran out and Costco is 40 minutes away. I've been using my housemate's coffee which is an Italian espresso. I bet that's it? Well, I'm too indisposed to get to Costco so I got some Folgers Colombian from Walmart pickup, it's been kind to me in the past I never drink coffee after 12pm.

Melatonin doesn't work on me either. I was being facetious earlier about the White Russian and no way would I make a White Russian with skim milk LOL

I do have a gummy left, it's pretty strong, usually cut it in half. Maybe I'll use that instead. Fewer after effects.

When I was a pup (20's) I used to drink Valerian tea when I couldn't sleep. It was disgusting and smelled horrible but it worked. That was herbs directly from the herb store. Those bags at places like Trader Joe's are not strong enough.

For some reason, Chamomile tea now makes my throat scratchy and close up. Probably due to quality of product? I buy the expensive stuff (Stash) so I don't get it.
