I saw someone wearing this recently---it was really cute! I think it also comes in a crochet version.
It's on my list to do----along with about 50 other patterns I want to try.
Yes, it does come in crochet. I think the crochet version is actually prettier, but I was very rusty on crocheting so I went with the knitted version.
Here’s my dilemma though, the end result is really big on me. My inner voice is saying, “rip it out and do it over”. This, after restarting it once already when the first panel (its made in 4 panels) was too small. I can’t face it right now, so I’m just taking a breather.
I finished my loom knit pullover and have started another one - trying to get both done for daughter's birthday at start of April - while the weather's so she can still wear them this year! I think I'll manage. Have put the cross stitch aside to do these.
Gentlearts, what does your kit look like? What picture I mean. (Your poncho will be waiting, all nice and new, for next year)
The crewel kit I bought from eBay turns out to be from 1977! A few of the colors are a bit faded, but I think it will still look nice when it’s done. No extra charge for the shabby chic, lol.
Yesterday, I had a fun afternoon stitching with 3 other women. I’m in an art group offshoot of the Newcomers Club. Usually, they go to a gallery or museum, and sometimes they make a craft. This month the meeting was to stitch name tags out of fabrics scraps and embroidery floss. I didn’t get finished, but I’ll post a picture later.
Well, I've just finished 1-3/4 sweaters for my daughter's birthday in April. I got all the way to the last sleeve in the second sweater and ran out of yarn with just the sleeve cap to do! So it's down to the shop tomorrow and hope.
You'll find one and it'll work out in the end. As long as you're sewing. Oh, I wanted a buttonhole stitch, too, since I had to have 99 stitches I didn't want. Let me know what you pick in the end.
Any loom knitters here? I've just finished two long sleeve pullovers on my All-In-One KB knitting loom, which is a rectangular loom. I've noticed this before when doing something that goes "around the corner" - the finished product has a sight wrinkle where I turned the corner on the loom, that - naturally - goes all the way from top to bottom of the piece.
I just noticed KB now has come out with a circular loom of the same gauge that is big enough to do large projects on - sweaters, etc. so I've ordered the set. Am anxious to see how the same pattern will work on the circular loom. I'm sure it will eliminate that particular problem (but maybe present some other problem I haven't thought of!)
