Deep Ellum actually reminds me much more of EaDo than those two. Laid out slightly differently but the vibes remind me of each other.

Architectually speaking, 100%. By vibes I meant crowd. The Washington crowd resembles the Deep Ellum crowd imo. They even have a some of the same spots with locations in both. The Bottle Blonde for example.

You don't even have to go to bars, you can just walk around and people watch or interact with people on the streets.
I've never understood the attraction of hanging out with a bunch of people drinking too much and talking about boring stuff. I guess I am just not a people person.

Oh the crowd? Yep, definitely agree with you on that one.

I always figured Washington Ave was like our Lower/Lowest Greenville Avenue area. Which is a different vibe from Deep Ellum/Exposition Park.

While that area is nice, it doesn’t draw the crowds near that of Washington and of course less than Deep Ellum, so it’s not a good comparison.

If Deep Ellum were compared to Houston, it would be EaDo’s aesthetics/architecture/art with Washington’s crowd and with Midtown’s concentration.

Midtown is a denser club/bar area (you literally have separate bars stacked on top of each other! In some parts) than Deep Ellum but it’s the closest to Deep Ellum in terms of concentration.

When I was in Midtown, it felt a lot like parts of Uptown Dallas or even sections of Oak Lawn.

A lot of people don’t understand why a website full of people who talk about city topics for pleasure can exist and sustain. But it happens!
