Yeah I'm not sure people even try to meet people to date at bars and clubs anymore. Basically they just spend a fortune drinking and talking to the same people at a noisy place.

As far as nightlife..... Dallas has more connected districts while Houston has islands.

In the Uber age, Houston's lack of cohesion is made a little bit better. Pre Covid Houston's downtown nightlife easily surpassed Dallas's best district but Covid really setback a bunch of momentum.

If you go downtown for nightlife that shows why you think we te not cohesive. And doesn’t matter if it’s the Uber age or not, connected districts are better.

But yeah the only people who don’t see the connected districts are the ones who don’t go there. And as your post says, downtown isn’t a great spot just a bunch of regular bars.

A bunch of regular bars is kind of awesome. Many of us are not interested in going to vapid meat markets with trendily-dressed drug-enhanced people are pretending to gyrate to ED"M" while they make some sort of dumb social media posts and think they are impressing the opposite sex (or same sex in some cases I guess).

I agree. And as I said above, I understand the importance of that district. But as you see here, purple was looking for that experience and went Downtown, so he went to the wrong place for it. That experience is what you get in Midtown, Washington in Houston and Deep Ellum in Dallas.

Yes, that makes sense.

It’s not in the same category as Deep Ellum at all. We were talking about the crowds being the same. But it’s also not the premiere nightlife spot in Houston.

We need to stop with the “this version of…”. There’s no Deep Ellum except DE, no Midtown except midtown etc.

I think they're both overrated personally, but mainly because it's not my preferred scene. The crowds between the two are definitely similar.
