BTW Is she pronouncing her maiden name to sound like the English word “moral.” As in a republican with morals? “Moral” like the cripple, the lazy eye and the damn yankee currently in Austin?
Del Moral Name Meaning

Spanish: Variant With The Preposition And Definite Article Del ‘From The’ Of Moral ‘Mulberry Tree’.

Source: Dictionary of American Family Names ©2013, Oxford University Press

Del Moral is loosely pronounced “del morale.”

Always good to make fun of the cripple and lazy-eyed. I personally don't care for Abbott and have not voted for him, but I think your argument loses all merit when you stoop down to things like that.

Nope. Abbott deserves it, because he supported legislation that makes it nearly impossible to get the same sort of settlement he did. Remember, tort reform is for the poors.

Harris County Republicans hope focus on crime, bail can break winless streak in judicial races

https://www.houstonchronicle.com/pol...2-17478802.php

Quote:
Harris County Republicans, winless in countywide judicial races over the last three elections, are aiming to unseat dozens of Democratic judges in the November midterms as they look to capitalize on the county’s high rates of violent crime.

Judicial candidates from both parties traditionally have little control over their fates at the ballot box, with a single party capturing every countywide judicial contest in Harris County in five of the last seven election cycles. That trend has deterred many would-be Republican candidates from even bothering to run in recent years, leaving a number of Democratic judges uncontested as Harris County solidified its leftward lean.

District Attorney Kim Ogg, a Democrat and frequent critic of judges overseeing criminal courts, has argued that misdemeanor bail reform is tied to the rise in violent crime seen in Harris County, a trend that began around the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ogg’s conclusions conflict with those of an independent court monitor, whose findings Ogg has disputed, and a recent study that concluded fewer misdemeanor defendants went on to commit crimes after the bail reform settlement.

A number of prosecutors in Ogg’s office are seeking positions on the bench this year. Some successfully unseated Democratic incumbents in the primaries earlier this year, while others are running as Republicans in the general election.

There is a vicious lack of decency in today’s society. I think the internet generation has something to do with it…so easy to say despicable things from behind a keyboard.

There is nothing I've said online about Abbott, Patrick, Paxton, etc that I wouldn't say to their face. And I've said some pretty mean things about them.

For Patrick and Paxton, same. I only wish I could tell them to their face what scum they are. Throw Trump in that mix for good measure. Hell, Id be happy to tell Illhan Omar and Rashid Talib similar things to their face (and no not because they are Muslim).

I don't feel that way as much about Abbott. I don't like the guy but I've never been that mean about him. Its more of a dislike not so much abhorrence like the others.

Sure, you might want to tell off Paxton AASB but I don’t see you calling him a ‘lazy eye’ to his face, or online. I think you are more civil than that.

San Jac is right. We do live in a generation that’s unnecessarily harsh towards things they disagree with. I grew up in the smartphone era that would call myself a boomer for this comment but I think in this case, the argument is valid.

It’s not even about not saying something to their face. It’s about extremity and unwillingness to compromise
