Was that the worthless piece of garbage Mark Herman, Pct 8 Constable at the beginning? What a buffoon. I'm not watching the whole thing, since it's probably more of the same "spend money on nothing but law enforcement" garbage.

I see Ogg was out there posturing with her "The last four years, the best of us are dead..." statement. No, LEOs are not the "best" of us. They are government employees paid to do a job that is occasionally dangerous. Then Ogg goes into her "screw the neighborhoods and health care, give me money so I can waste it" routine.

And, of course, the cowards Cagle and Ramsey didn't show up again. What a couple of losers.

Facts. No one cares about the mean names politicians and their proxies call each other anymore. I think folks are focused on results.

If she wins, it will also be because of her record. I don't think voters are paying as much attention to all of this distracting hogwash as usual and are looking at the facts on the ground.

Ill be honest, Ive become more indifferent to the results in this race. I did vote for Lina for reasons Ive previously outlined, but Im not going to worry much if she loses. I think there are two reasons:

1) I dont think Mealer is any kind of extremist.
2) I honestly was very disappointed with the way Lina has campaigned in recent weeks. It was almost like she was trying to use star power as a way of getting votes as opposed to anything local.

Unfortunately, you’re 100% wrong. I do mean unfortunately. The independent vote 100% cares about feelings and names. I’m not saying I care (I dont). Im saying the independent vote does.

I do wish that society had more interests in data and facts, but as shown from people of both sides, this isn’t the case.

I've seen 100s of Mealer signs, I haven't seen a single sign for Lina Hidalgo
Is there a reason for that?

Lina Hidalgo does not have a lot of money to campaign with, because she has pledged not to accept money from any county vendors, to avoid conflicts of interest. Mealer has not made that pledge. Hence, Lina has fewer yard signs to give away, and less money overall. This is probably also why she is happy to accept help from "stars" like Jane Fonda. If you don't like the look of that, maybe you might like that she won't be beholden to interests that are not the best interests of the residents of Harris County.

I think it partially depends on the part of town. Where I live its about 60/40 Lina to Mealer signs but I live in a liberal part of town.

I think part of it is that Mealer did a much better job of fund raising. She had a much bigger war chest. That means more signs.

I would caution that number of signs has very little correlation with probability to win.

I dont like the look of Jane Fonda campaigning for Lina because that is a GIGANTIC turn off to independent voters. Jane Fonda is a very polarizing figure. Liberals love her and no one else does. She needs the independent vote and that was a bad move.

Sadly, I think this is completely right. Voters care way too much about optics and will happily vote for someone that is a gigantic POS if that person can appeal to the emotions of the voters. Appealing to the emotions of the voters means stiring division by creating an us vs. them mentality. Why do we think Dan Patrick and Ken Paxton are still here?
