I do think that Mexico has a moral right to the Southwest, and that it should be returned to their custody next week, at the latest. I think that Russia has a moral claim to Alaska, too. Great Britain should get the Pacific Northwest AND the eastern seaboard. Florida should be returned to Spain, the Mississippi Basin to France, Delaware should belong to Sweden, and New York City to Holland.
Let's just disband the whole failed experiment, give it back to its 'proper' owners, and then we'll sit by and watch THEM explain why THEY stole it from the Indians. THIS could get interesting!!!

To ask this on a forum where the vast majority of the folks here are patriots, all american - what ever that means, and anti immigrant, is not a great idea. The South West belongs to the Indians, not the Mexicans or any government. But what is done is done. We won the war, with our guns and cannons and forced them out. Because the white man needed to take over. You know, the Indians were savages and didn't deserve to be here anyway. But that's history. What's done is done. Look at Romans...they did the same with Europe. Wars are fought and won or lost. Those white folks happend to win.

If if were not the White Euros; the group that could have subjugated the New World could have been the Japanese----------or, even the Chinese.
Hell; had the Aztecs and/or Incas taken a different path in history----------they might have gone to Europe, Africa, etc. instead of being defeated by the Spanish.

And those "white men" made America one of the best, most free, and democratic countries in the world. We need to enjoy our freedoms, and enforce our laws. THIS IS NOT a country that has any need to not enforce its laws. And you say forced "them" out. Arent you hispanic? Werent you one of those who was forced out and is all bitter and shrivled because of it?
Yes, we won the land from Mexico. Did we take it morally? No. We thought that we could take all this land because of Manifest Destiny.
Just about the whole world, at one time or another, was "taken" by somebody, from somebody ELSE. Mostly under circumstances FAR more violent than the US "taking" the Southwest (for which they even paid a large sum of money, and the 'natives' were allowed to stay on). Pretty mild, I'd say, as far as 'taking' goes.
But of ALL these cases, I can't think of ONE that was done "morally"...at least the LOSERS didn't think it was very 'moral'...It's just that "Our" immorality was probably not as great as MOST...
