Maybe most illegals are not violent criminals: just that ID theft, etc. are Felonies that would land an American in Federal prison.

Not that it really matters much anymore since where I live (Phx area) the mostly Hispanic illegals are fleeing since they 'know' the party is over.

A criminal need not be violent to wreak havoc and destroy lives. Many innocent citizens have had their identities stolen and their lives ruined by illegal aliens “seeking a better life.” Sorry, but illegal immigration is not the victimless crime you choose to believe.

No, all illegal aliens are not dangerous criminals. However, they are ALL criminals. In this country, we punish those who violate our laws. Otherwise, we would have rampant crime and anarchy. We can’t allow foreigners to ignore our laws, while we punish citizens. Illegal aliens are not forced to violate our laws; they make a conscious decision. They know when they illegally enter this country, or overstay visas, they are lawbreakers. Thus, they should also expect to suffer the consequences of their actions.

And just who audits the accuracy of the SSA's records , DHS ?
I agree. I think E-verify should be MANDATORY! There is no reason for it not to be. But then again, I think the government wants to create loopholes for companies to use illegal labor so they don't make it mandatory.

I agree that it should be punished, just in a more fiscally responsible way than shoving them in a federal prison...it's just too damn expensive for tax payers. That situation can be resolved with monetary penalties and community service, then it suddenly helps us out in two ways as opposed to ripping into us for 70k a year or whatever ridiculous amount it costs to keep somebody in prison these days.

Lives ruined? I find a hard time believing this one. I've seen cases where it has caused a temporary annoyance but nothing else, please tell me about those lives who have been ruined due to identity theft.

See above explanation. Throwing non-violent people in prison is a massive waste of money, let's find an effective punishment that helps us out, not one that burns a hole in our tax-paying pockets.

How about Tent Cities in; say, North Dakota in the winter time? Then deport said criminals ASAP along with seizing all of their assets.

Remember that such facilities are good enough for our Armed Forces so; needless to say, they would be quite acceptable for illegal aliens.

The joy you'd receive out of these people being tortured aside, your tent cities would cost additional tax money I wouldn't be happy about giving up. You remove that from the picture and your plan sounds ok, except that said deported will sneak back into the country the following week, and the expensive process starts over.

Then who is paying coyotes up to $5K a head to smuggle said illegals across? Face it: as of late; once deported--------most illegals stay home.

Besides: close/lock our southern border using lethal force if needed.

If you data to back that up then maybe that's true, I can only speak from people I know, who would tell you otherwise. Bottom line is if somebody wants to be here, they'll find a way in.

See my comment in the other topic regarding this. I think we both know this would never happen in a million years.

And Americans will keep rousting illegal aliens more and more harshly (preferably legally).
