Those would fall under #2

We are letting in a MILLION people a year and that is far, far too many. S Cal is having a water crisis and this stampede across the border on top of who we allow in legally is far too many.

For those that want to come here but can't qualify I say, TOUGH! Live in the shadows until you are ferreted out. We have every right to protect our borders and reject who we deem a burden.

I don't even know why you all are wasting your time with Stillkit after all of what has been said. A lot of people just deny and ignore the effects of illegal immigration and act like we are supposed to just be OK with it happening. They also don't understand the concept of an immigrant illegally being here and contributing to our problems. That's not what it is supposed to be about.

I said this the other day, but it bears repeating: The poor Mexicans (and others south of border) KNOW that if they ask permission to live in the US that they WILL be denied. Rather than apply and do it legally (if they are even offered the chance) they would rather skip that long tedious process and come here illegally.
And I don't - and never will - buy the "they just come for jobs" sob stories.
E-verify and kick them out if not here legally. They know they are here illegally, just the chance they took.
Like you said, if they can't get in legally TOUGH... we don't need to import poverty.

Illegal immigration and the water crisis are two different things. Right now in the Inland Empire the grass in the master planned communities (plural) surrounding my house are perfectly emerald green. It's like that all year long. All the houses around here are on .25-1 acre. Most fully landscaped. All have green manicured lawns. We waste A LOT of water in California. Poor city planning help led us to this water crisis, not illegal immigrants.

Drive out toward Blythe some afternoon and look south toward the prison.

Please note that the road leading to the prison is lined with beautiful, slender palm trees. Those are not native to the desert and have to be plentifully watered.

Wanna find the source of SOCAL's water problem? Look there, and at the fantastic landscaping CALTRANS provides along your local freeway, rather than to illegals.

That's right. Don't pay any attention to anything which even approaches the voice of reason and practicality.

Better to cling to the emotionally satisfying pipe-dreams of "solutions" to the problem which can't really be effective. Better to vent and hold hands with others who are afraid and bigoted. Rather than face the realities of the problem head on and clear-eyed, with the facts at hand, it's preferable make assumptions based upon nothing but emotion.

At least you can take comfort in the sure knowledge that there is someone out there, some demogogue, some politician interested in pandering to your fears for his own personal gain. He'll be along directly to present you with the options you so desperately want, just as Hitler did a couple of generations ago, and you'll find yourself in the same place as did the people of Germany; willingly subjegated to a "savior;" someone who will preserve the status quo, someone who will protect you from the great un-washed, the Untermenchen.

Advocating giving amnesty to illegal alien lawbreakers, which you do, is neither the voice of reason, nor the voice of practicality.

You keep clinging to your emotionally satisfying pipe-dream of handing out another amnesty in trying to solve the illegal immigration problem which has been proven, from past experiences, to not be an effective solution to the problem. So keep venting and holding hands with other pro-illegal immigration folks who are as bigoted as you are. Instead of facing the realities of the illegal immigration problem with the facts at hand of how it is damaging our country in so many ways, it appears as though it's preferable for you to make assumptions based upon nothing but emotion.

Anybody who dares to bring up Hitler and Nazi Germany as an analogy when discussing illegal immigration just shows how absolutely desperate they are, and just how low they'll stoop, in trying in vain to defend lawbreaking by millions of foreigners in the United States. Any person who feels the need to resort to this perverse tactic has, in my opinion, lost all credibility on this board, as they have nothing rational left to offer to the ongoing dialogue here on the subject of illegal immigration.
