But you're taking time to post on message boards about this and other political ramblings so apparently you DO care.
Step back and re-read my post. I've got better things to worry about besides a blown prediction I made on here. It makes no difference to anything. I also don't worry about grabbing every last dollar I can from investing. If I did, I'd put a lot more time into it.

Oh, hey, good thing you were fully invested and made the call just for fun
Just based on your posting history here-you DO put a lot of time into it. You would be better off indexing, but your choices are yours alone. You'll get there, just more slowly than other methods.

Grabbing every last dollar makes it seem like you are just missing a bit, but 8% vs 26% isn’t grabbing every dollar or picking up a few bucks. Your consistency if nothing else is amazing but it’s all excusing poor performance because you think you know better despite what history has shown you.

Here are the last 10 years of DJIA returns. I sure don't see an annual average of 26%. Do you? I see two great years, a bunch of good years, and 3 losing years.

exactly .
it’s missing the low hanging fruit just there for the picking …no work , no research , no predicting , no nothing needed .

he was referring to this years easy pickings ' 27% on the total market and 52% on nasdaq.. no research needed
going forward the lost compounding on that is a lot
not all of us will be 100% equities of course , but most of us have portfolios that fit our needs and not based on going in or out on what we think .
so someone with a 60/40 got what they should have . on the other hand someone 20/80 who really should have been 60/40 for their goal but were trying to time things shot themselves in the foot
it also can say whether they are long term investors or market timers
so i like to know where posters stand many times .., i dont think its a great achievement from an investing standpoint to get a 25% return on a tiny part of one’s money while the bulk sits in cash at 4% …
on the other hand i am impressed when someone gets 25% on 90% of ALL their money because they are really moving that growth meter .
if in a pre retirement or retirement stage i like to know how others are allocated and how they position for retirement overall not just what a portion of money is in but what are they doing overall with all that money because that determines whether their draw is safe or not .
every penny of savings counts when we set our draw each year
so i take interest in things others may not …
I'm not looking to impress anyone LOL. And I have no draw to be concerned about either so those discussions are of less interest to me than to you.
