No! I said in my post that these are taken downtown and in Riverside. I have only been to Alpine Groves once and that was last Saturday(3 day's ago) on our way back from St Augustine I only stopped there because GadgetRick took some pictures there and I wanted to see it first hand. I walked down to the river there and did not see any foam at that time, just some trash that floated in with the currents.

Alpine Groves Park, is located on State Road 13, just four miles south of the Julington Creek Bridge. And a great place to visit and take photographs.

We will probably go back there this weekend, (weather depending) just to take some pictures and explore a little more. It's a very nice park.

So, what about this foam that brought this thread back to life about??? Is there foam or not???
Or, later we will find out ourselves when we get out on the river! When I done this thread, we seen the foam just outside the channel (into the river) at Goodby's Creek Boat Ramp. And then we seen it again at the Landing. And, now somebody has reported that it's back, but where?

Fsquid's wife told him she saw it at Alpine Grove Park...Whats hard to understand about that? I told you where it(Alpine Grove Park) was in my previous post about 4 miles south of Julington Creek which is about 5 miles south of Goodby's Creek boat ramp so its a total of about 9 miles south of where you launch your boat. But any foam that was there on 10-24-11 should have already been taken by the current and be well past Goodby's Creek at this time and well on it's way downtown.

I have just today talked with a friend of mine who lives on Rubin Rd at the point of land where Goodby's Creek meets the St John's River. And he's an avid fisherman and almost always out on his dock and he says he hasn't seen any foam in the last year or so.

Where does it come from originally?? Who picks up all the empty junkyard boats floating around.

The foam? No one knows. What causes it? They are not sure of that either. They are still testing it.

The empty junkyard boats? If what you mean are the abandoned derelict vessals when one is found usually by the St John's River Keeper he calls a salvage company and they come out and tow it off for salvage. However if the boat does not look abandoned but just unmanned, the best bet is to call the police as someone may have fallen overboard and drowned. And a search needs to be done post haste.

Taken this morning downtown Jax. No foam downtown.

But in Avondale this morning at sunrise near the new house a little patch of foam along the bulkhead and dock. Not much but it's there.
