By "this country" you mean Puerto Rico, since it's part of the US.

You have a lower cost of living to go with your lower pay and then you spend most of your time living inside your house because 1) It hellish outside 2) Takes 30 mins to get there or 3) You already went there in month 1.
You are obviously not a happy camper. If you are spending most of your time living inside your house because it is hellish outside, then you must live in a section of town where I would not want to live myself. (Or were you referring to the heat?) In any case, judging from the many positive comments on this board most people are happy living in Jax in spite of its shortcomings - and they are many. Still I don't hear of many people dashing off to join your family in NYC, Baltimore, Seattle, Austin and St Louis. But as I said before, every city has its positives and negatives and I choose to dwell on the positives.

I already have. I lived for 5 years in Baltimore and a handful of months in Norfolk, Annapolis and New Orleans....and I still would prefer there to here.

The big city life doesn't appeal to me at all... Jacksonville is really great in its own right, and it works for a lot of people... I finally feel like I am getting my moneys worth out of where I am living...

You must be rich to afford living in those areas and not hate it...

I understand what you are saying but rich can be viewed in ways other than affordability. What about a poor person who is rich in family history, relationships and the gift of gab while loving to share with everyone? Personalities can really go further than wealth.

Also, what about a wealthy person who is also rich in most things we can touch and feel but absent when it comes to sharing.

There are a lot of BIG cities in the North and South but I believe after living in both sections the South has more and shows an honest belief in themselves while willing to share than the Northerners. I also believe when we find peace and harmony everthing else falls into its own place in our lives. Good luck....and share something with others in need....

..

Why come back here to write ... if you left this city and didn't like it here? My recommendation is to move on to your new CD location and focus on the positive with your new life. It doesn't really help you or anyone else to come back here and trash Jax - especially for those of us who love it here. It's not like we would be convincing you to come back since you seem to have moved on and made up your mind.
