Entitled generation. They DESERVE to be able to walk wherever, and whenever they choose. And it's our fault when we run them down. Couple that with the invincible mindset and you have a recipe for disaster. I see it all the time on Fremont. Wait for the goddamn signal before you walk, or it's your fault when you're dead.

I agree, they're acting so stupid it's like they almost have a deathwish. I remember back in the early 2000's in Burlington, WA. We lived in a house at the end of this culdesac. These kids would play a halfcourt basketball game right in the middle of the road, and when I pulled up in the car trying ta get by, they would act like I'm not even there. I'd pop the horn one time and...nothing. They'd keep playing.

Eventually it led to an outburst a few months later on my part. Then they had the gall ta be upset with me! What do they expect? Idiots. Long story short? They were a pain in the butt the whole time we lived there. We moved in May of 2003 and moved all the way across the country to Rolla, MO, where I began schooling in Respiratory Therapy. The era of working for Boeing (for 20 years) had ended.

Not just downtown. I saw a nitwit today crossing six lanes of traffic against the light on Cheyenne where it's a 50 mph zone. Nobody hit him, but he might have well been wearing a target. Idiot.

There were quite a few playing frog ger before we almost hit the kid that just walked across all lanes of traffic. I had personally never seen that many people running across a busy street in various spots and barely missing getting hit all in the span of 15-20 minutes before the kid tried to become road kill. Staying away from that area for awhile. We only ended up down there, trying to find an alternate route back home because I-15 was so clogged with EDC partiers going north.

Quite possible, this character moved here from California, where the drivers are much more sensitive/vigilant of pedestrians! If there's one city I have fewer fears of crossing a street, and that's when I'm in L.A.!

On my way to the bus stop on Cheyenne/Pecos, in the mornings, even on a light traffic day like Sat. or Sun. morning, crossing those 7 lanes to the other side can be very challenging and risky! Yes, I saw the car which seemed like 2 miles away heading east, and I thought I had enough time to cross those 7 lanes, and? I still underestimated the speed of that car!

I'm all for the 45 MPH speed limits in Las Vegas on our major avenues, and how do you get speedy Las Vegans to drive 45MPH on our major avenues? Drop the speed limit to 35MPH! Then? Given most Las Vegas drive 10MPH over the speed limit, only then will you get them to slow down to 45MPH!

It even scares me to walk to the bus stop along the sidewalks in this city, knowing of drivers who have run up on the sidewalks and run people over (just happened last week here!), and there's the bus stop crashes!

I know for sure, there are times when I'm walking to the bus stop, there are cars not just driving 10MPH over the 45MPH speed limit, they're going 60-65MPH!

When I walk to the bus stop on DI/Eastern, I never sit at the bus stop, too scared, I stand in the parking lot at Ross instead!

I always drive like someone is going to jump out in front of me. I have saved at least two lives by doing this.(one was an elementary school kid)

It sucks having to drive cautiously like this but I don't want/need anything like this on my conscious. Plus my car versus any pedestrian will always have the same outcome...I win-they lose. Same thing with the crazy motorcycle riders. I just let them do their thing because most motorcycle accidents I have seen, the cycle rider was dead and the truck/SUV/van/sedan driver didn't have a scratch on them.

Just gotta adapt.

If they're foreigner's it might be common to cross traffic where they come from. This is Las Vegas after all. People come here to get away with being stupid among many things.

Sometimes I forget I'm living in Las Vegas until I venture out of the compound with my husband. Then I'm like "Oh Wow look at the lights of that Casino!"

I changed the settings on my Groupon and Living Social coupons to Las Vegas and I've found the amount of entertainment options available here as a local are kind of overwhelming at times. There are so many things I want to go see and do here.

Crazy motorcycle drivers is an understatement. Less than 5% of people on a motorcycle I've seen out here drive with even a slight regard to the law. The watch out for motorcycle stickers are funny. You have to watch your mirror every 2 seconds as they're not there then they're there doing 100mph on a city street.

I agree...especially when they are white lining. I do notice however a huge difference between those driving a big bike vs. a crotch rocket.

When I taught my son to drive, I told him to drive like it was a video game, and everyone is trying to kill you, or themselves. Especially in parking lots. He didn't listen and totalled his car coming out of a parking lot.
