I've lived on both coasts (and in Puerto Rico), right on the water. There's nothing like it! I miss the sounds of the seals barking in the morning, and the sound of crashing waves. But I like the heat, which is what prompted my move to the desert. While it's nice to live on the beach, I just don't like the cooler temps. Puerto Rico was fantastic, but it rained too much for my liking.

Yes, I can see that being an issue. Perhaps my adventures will eventually bring me back here! I grew up dealing with cold temperatures and the dry heat doesn't bother me at all. I also love the sunny days.

I've lived in brutally cold climates, and tropical climates. I prefer right here. Hot and dry. Plus, 300+ days of full sun makes me REALLY happy
For someone like me whose main motivation to live somewhere is the weather, I don't know why I didn't move here decades ago. 2+ years here and still loving every day. I get my ocean fix in Malibu, and that works for me...
