I forgot to mention that I also had a computer science teacher who looked like Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead. And no, he didn't give out any ice cream. This was back in 82 and 83; years before Ben & Jerry's.

aqualung - did he have the same propensity that Jerry Garcia did to eat fatty sandwiches, like sausage sandwiches? Just curious.

I was at Albertson's Sunday, when they were setting up the voting machines, but not available until 9pm and I was there after work around 6:30am. I ran into another frustrated night shift worker who was equally puzzled as to why we couldn't vote then rather than come back at 9am.

Well, I did foolishly return at 9am and with the long line I left.

I'll just wait until Election Day, as I recall the voting site at Winchester opens quite early around 7am, but I could be wrong.
Just remember, if you wait until Election Day, you have to go to your designated polling location, you can't go to any location. All of the major shopping malls have early voting daily until Friday-- not sure how late they are open or how early, but maybe you can check into that-- I believe the lines have died down since early voting started. Make sure to vote though, this election is far too important to sit out!

The polling booth on 11/8 is right up the street from me at an elementary school, opens at 7am, I work until 6am, get home at 6:30am, so that's picture perfect for me, I can walk up there early, stand in line. Last Presidential election, I did the same, and I was in and out in less than 20 minutes.

We went to Desert Vista last week. Walked in, voted, left. Probably 5 minutes.

Sorry if this has already been covered: Does Nevada not do mail-in ballots? You can only vote in person, but they do have early voting, correct?

I've been going to Las Vegas for years (live in the Chicagoland area) just for quick get away with the hubby. At least once or twice a year for 17 years. We used to get comp'd all the time for hotel rooms, shows, etc. Now it seems like pulling teeth to get anything! Anyone know where the deals are???

It's a little too late to vote by absentee ballot, Davey. I sent mine in on Saturday. They do have have early voting at the Fashion Show Mall on the Strip. Welcome back to Las Vegas, btw.

Thanks Aqua - hope all is well with you. We're actually still living in Arizona until early next year, and we're registered to vote here, so we mailed in our ballots a few weeks back. I was just wondering if there was another option other than the early voting locations, for the next time around

Other than having a tracheostomy (I'm on my PMV right now), and a stroke that's going to place me in a wheelchair for the rest of my life, I'm ok. The food is good here at St. Joseph's Transitional Rehab; it's nice not having to get by on cereal, ramen, and either hamburger helper or mac & cheese. When I was living there my former roommates, Sonny took my EBT card and took $80 of the last $100 tip to spend on weed. I only knew about it because Chris told me about it in FB chat. Nice, huh? Sonny's the one who'd scream at me buying a Coke Zero or a McDouble. And yes, I did vote yes on Measure 2. I take Norco for the diabetic neuropathy that I have, and I have to take Lactulose (15ml) since Norco is an opioid. Marijuana candy would be better to relieve my pain.

I chatted with one of my former roommates, Chris Brune, on FB recently. He told me that they got in trouble with the apartment complex and Animal Control over the damage their cats did to the apartment. They got kicked out and were forced to move to a one bedroom mobile home on Las Vegas Blvd North. No, their new place isn't wheelchair accessible. And they took their cats with them. Am I upset? I was at first, but now I have friends here and staff that takes good care of me.

Life is good.

Here's a
little something that you all can enjoy.
