As they do here. It's just in the summer instead of the winter.

Summers are usually more violent nationwide.

GrumpyPotPie - did you tolerate Buffalo, NY, all right? Hate it or tolerate it or did you really like it? Curious because I'm talking to someone about a gig even further north in Ogdensburg tomorrow. Cold, freezing place. With beautiful summers, but the average year-round temperature is only 44.8!

I used to live in Michigan and drove through Buffalo often on my way to Massachusetts.

It's position at the eastern end of the great lakes meant that it often has what they called "Lake effect" weather.

That means lots of thunderstorms in the summer with the frequent tornado warning.

And in winter mounds of wet heavy snow. Sometimes several feet deep over the course of a day or two.

I've even been through Buffalo when the weather report going in to the region was thunder and tornado warning and by the time we exited the area it was snowing.

It's always humid summer or winter. In the summer they call it "sticky." In the winter the damp wind whips through your clothes and chills your bones.

If that sound good to you go for it.

Place is no where near Buffalo and will have a vastly different climate. Actually a port on the St. Lawrence. Closest civilization is in Canada. Ottawa. Actually NE of Watertown which was considered the hardest climate in upstate NY. Cold but no where near the snow of Buffalo or Rochester. Check Ottawa for the weather.

Gorgeous on the seaway about half of the year. Forget abut the rest.

LOL. We put 1" styrofoam insulation in our bedroom bay windows to block the morning sun because of the light and heat.
