Has anyone been to the Aliante medley buffet lately? We went yesterday with the BOGO coupon. It seems to have gone downhill considerably since Boyd gaming bought the place. Many changes. Not crowded like it used to be. A lot of the food looks like it's been sitting there forever with a weird film on it. The pizza was cold so didn't eat it. A lot less side dishes than before. And I rely on them since I do not eat meat. The salad bar has been dumbed down as well. A lot less toppings, no olives for the salad, no cucumbers, no onions, no peas, no beets, some other things missing. Less servers, in fact, ours disappeared for the duration of the time we were there, luckily we did get a beverage first.

The previous owners of the casino billed their casino/hotel as a 4 star place. And their buffet was always better than other locals places. I would rate the buffet at 1 1/2 stars now. We were there last month a couple of times and it was slightly better, but not by much. So I can't just chalk this up to a bad day for them. I guess they want to do as cheap as possible and it is their prerogative to do as they want. I think we will skip them for the time being and go elsewhere.

A lot of people, apparently, as pizza has been on every buffet I've been to. If no one was eating it, they'd stop serving it.

My husband. Pizza is his favorite food and Aliante used to have good pizza, now it's all very gross and over-processed frozen stuff they stick out there cold. According to him, it's on the same level as the stations casino Fiesta and Texas Station. Time to quit these places all-together.

I ate at Aliante's buffet once when I lived on that side of town back in November. It wasnt too bad from what I recall The last time I was at Aliante was on my birthday back in December to see my Orlando Magic play the lakers and they won

I also love that Mexican place that has the $4 double margaritas. I'd go for those again if I didn't live in the SW now, and I wont drive drunk, especially at such a distance, and considering how much an uber costs, its not worth it.

I kinda miss the far north tbh

I see Pollo Compero has finally made it to Las Vegas, first outlet (fried chicken) opened at 1025 West Craig, next one opening at Charleston/Nellis.

It's a fried chicken chain from Central America, which I'm all to familiar with, through my 5 trips to Central America, I ate at these fried chicken places a number of times.

They should do very well here. On opening day they had long, long lines waiting to get in!

The problem is that Boyd gaming purchased Aliante casino along with the Cannery. While the Cannery buffet was always sub par, they are now making Aliante's sub par. Cheaper ingredients, cheaper overall with dishes, favoring more plastic. Most will not notice the change, but some will like me.
Aliante's was still really good late last year, but now, no.
