Right now, we've got a killer batch of Gumbo in the fridge. Last week was Jambalaya & the week before that Red Beans and Rice. Maybe I'll talk her into another batch of Red Beans and Rice soon for the forum people.

Addressing your question, Lola's is the closest we've found. My girlfriend went last week for a meetup for Louisiana natives (I stopped by) & they seemed to have most stuff right. One guy had a Po-Boy & said it was only 'so-so', the other stuff certainly looked better. If the one he had was any indication, we probably make better ones at home. After I had one (Po-Boy) from Bon Creole in New Iberia, pretty much anything's gonna pale by comparison.

Lola's is more expensive than I expected, but overall seems like a good place.
I've never really eaten cajun food. But I hear that it's the best food as long as you dont ask whats in it

I'm trying to get out of a habit of wasting food. Im the worst with fresh ground beef. I'll usually go to Smiths (or Albertson's or wherever but usually Smiths) and I order 1 and 1/2 lb of angus ground beef. I'll make a cheeseburger for my self and the rest ends up not getting eaten, spoils, and I have to throw it away

I usually take care of the grocery shopping, and $40 can feed my gf and I for the week. But she hardly ever eats, not because she's on a diet or anything, her appetite just isn't as big as mine I guess. Not me though, I could eat through a 16 oz prime rib cooked rare and still have room for more

Bring on big portions of meat and potatoes. Hope I dont have a heart attack by age 38

Default When will the first 100 degree F day of the year occur?

Yesterday on the news they said that on average, the first 100 degree day of the year occurs by May 23rd, and the latest on record was June 30th. The 10-day forecast does not show anything over 95F, so we're going to be about a month late this year. Last night it bottomed out at around 61F. I had to close the bedroom window because it was getting too cold.

You should be in MI today. We are close to 100ºF and tomorrow is supposed to be hot too. We are about 12/15 degrees higher than LV! What's up with that? (oh, and can't forget that wonderful, sweaty humidity. We are 10% over you). I am actually loving it!

I'd like to see Chris win. But with her last name that hardly anyone can pronounce, most will just go for Carolyn.

Speaking of the City of Las Vegas, I finally got the right square arrangement I wanted in order to recreate LV in Sim City 4. Its going very well so far. IN the biggest square which is supposed to be Las Vegas proper, its the area between Sahara and Cheyenne from south to north. From west to east its Decatur to Eastern. Parts of that is in NLV in real life but whatever its all fun

I've also developed a smaller square south of it which is called "North Strip" which covers Sahara south to Spring Mountain Rd, and Valley View to Maryland Parkway from west to east. In this area includes the Wynn, the Convention Center, I-15 and Industrial Road

Pics coming soon!

Hooray! Now when tourists come here to Sin City, they won't leave the terminal with puzzled looks on their faces: Where's the sin, I have to light up outside Sin City's terminal?
