Just got back from spending Wed. afternoon at Zion and yesterday I went up to Cedar Breaks, but there's been so much snow this year, it's closed, won't re-open for another two weeks, in case anyone is heading up there.

A number of rock and mud slides along Hwy 14 going up to Deer Valley/Cedar Breaks. A bit nerve-wracking in those steep canyon roads, always fearful some big boulder is going to come crashing down onto the roof of my car.

I just love raging mountain streams, and I got more than I bargained for with that stream that runs along Hwy 14! Emptied my water bottle and refilled it with stream water at a higher elevation where the water is more pure!

I thought I would put this out as an alert since this trend is becoming more and more popular. Watch out if you are pulled over by a so called undercover, ok?

Impersonating police officers, this smacks of 3rd world countries.

3rd world countries: A disproportionate number of wealthy people and a disproportionate number of poor people.

This is only the beginning!

You know, I did not even think of that. Regardless, as you know, I totally agree with you about the future. We have been a creditor nation that has been deindustrialized and turned into a debtor nation. It will not continue forever. I laugh at people who think we are in a recovery. We take in 2.2 trillion in taxes and pay out 3.8 trillion dollars leaving a 1.6 trillion dollar deficit. The Federal Reserve is printing funny money to make up for it. This will end up in flames, and Vegas will look like Mexico when it is all over.

I read any number of warnings when I traveled throughout Latin America, regarding impersonating police officers.

As much as I love Tijuana, whenever I'm there, it's always a constant guessing game: Who's a real police officer and who isn't?

Did Paul McCartney put on a good show MomMom? Hope you've still got your
voice! My wife saw the Beatles a few times in 1963 before they went to
America. They used to tour northern England around the Liverpool area. She
saw a lot of the famous pop groups of the time. They used to perform in a
seaside town called Blackpool were British people used to go on holiday before
international holidays became popular. She prefered the Walker Brothers at the
time!! Her favourite was Gene Pitney who signed her album cover!!

I agree with you so much. I know I have no idea on how much time I have left, and I'm only 26! Things can happen at a blink of the eye, and that right there is pretty scary. But I might also live to be 126, too!

I just find it's important to handle your dreams/goals with a stable head on your shoulders. Going right into it with a great positive attitude sounds good, but I just feel that I would be more prone to failing like that. The economy is bad there, and there's not much we have control over.

If there were a lot of jobs available, I'd jump on it in a heart beat. Find an apartment there, move there, get a job within the first month and living happily ever after sounds great! Oh, wait, I don't like it here? Then I move back to Jersey, and find a job within a month too! This sounds great, but it's not real. If I quit my job and moved there to HOPE to find a job out there.. there's no guarantee on anything. I could fail, be forced to move back home.. and what are my odds of finding a job back home so easily? Not much! I was unemployed for 7 months. It took 7 months to get 2 job interviews, and one of those 2 gave me the job.

You'd never go sky diving without making sure you had a parachute
I always believed that over time, small steps lead to huge progress.

But what you said is very motivating and so true!

I'm 27 now but I came here when I was 26 from Massachusetts with no job lined up and very little savings. I'm still here and better for it. You reminded me of one of my favorite quotes. "If you've never failed, you've never lived". Small steps lead to more small steps in circles until you realize that failure is not only an option but a necessity to grow and live a fulfilling life not born of fear.

I think you're being very smart and incredibly mature in your reasoning.
