Nope, the closest Whole Foods is Jericho. Target & Walmart have a limited amount of groceries. Still not full service supermarkets.

Wasn't he referring to the Jericho Waldbaums? Whole Foods is a few hundred feet away.

As someone who's spent a considerable amount of time in both stores, I can see why no other major supermarket bid on the Waldbaums location. Compared to the volume of people and traffic at that Whole Foods, Waldbaums is a ghost town. And I don't get the impression too many Jericho/Brookville residents are driving past WF to get to a new Stop and Shop.

Everyone is going to Costco, Walmart, Target, Sam's Club, Fresh Direct etc.

Or maybe they prefer smaller boutigue outfits, like Iavorone Brothers in Lake Success.

Still has everything most people need.

As for meat, I see boutique specialty butchers and fish markets springing up like Jordan's Lobster Farm in Island Park

Rural areas are a logistical nightmare, not densely populated ones with ample roads. More likely it's related to cost of doing business being prohibitive due to taxes and regulations.

Jordan's Lobster Farms has been at that location for over 30 years...It didn't just "Spring" up

H-Mart was approved. I feel bad for the employees and the community, there are apts near there, don't know where those people without cars will shop now. For those with cars, Shop-Rite is only minutes away though.
Once again a complete failure to take the interests of the community first. So many LI towns have been screwed by this.

H-mart is a quality supermarket. What's the issue?
