Holy smokes it looks like I agree with you on something. Lol.

Another 15 years then I’ll change my tune. But for now a move off LI just doesn’t make any sense.

There are a thousand places where the grass is greener (and cheaper). You just happen have insight into your own needs and plan/analyze accordingly. Punky is just off on an RE tangent...again! lol Myself, I'd ditch this clambake in a heartbeat for a million better places...but reality is I have no say unless I ditch the wife (and family) and kids first! So I stay...for now!

Murphy's Law I get a remote job tomorrow and STILL can't leave! aughhhhh!!!

Lol this is me & my husband also. He wants to leave & I wont but in his defense he has lived all over the country & has no family on LI. My family is all here but also I cant work anywhere else but NYC so he’s stuck here muahahahaaaa

He loves it here but he feels like we could get more for our $$ elsewhere. I know we can but not @ the expense of leaving family & me not having a job. Basically if we moved, we’d be a one income family ... so yeah

Different strokes for different folks though

I have a ranch & so do my parents. There are a lot of ranches here but mostly older construction. Anything new being made is not likely be a ranch.

My parents house was built in the 1940’s & mine in 1928 for frame of reference. Ranches can be found but you gotta look a lil

Lol. Ranches are real hard to come by where I am. If I see one I will be snapping it up for when I need it! (When I say hard to come by I mean outside 55+ communities).
