I don't doubt that. I particularly am fairly moderate in my political view points... It's just I have a big issue with the reasoning these politicians are doing it. It would be one thing if they were radical rightists who were enacting historical means disabling certain classes of people or races from obtaining wealth, equity, equal rights, or voting rights, while its completely disgusting, they were atleast honest about their agenda and while this doesn't justify it, we knew what to expect.. ..but lately the radical left has been candy wrapping their agenda to appear as progressive but they have are infact very close to the opposite, they are destroying the middle class people and the middle class is coming closer and closer to 'needing' socialism, if / when that happens, they will have total control and that is what they want is what I deeply fear. They want the ability to choose what we desire and what we want, how we react, what products and services we need, so they can manipulate us to serve their agenda's in a way to promotes them in prosperity, financially and in control. They are basically wolves in sheeps clothing, appearing to be on our side but in reality they are just as much using minorities, historic racism, income equality, migrant issues, as a way to platue and leverage their way into obtaining and maintaining a voter base but backhandedly sweep away much of the money infact very intended to assist some of these social problems, as a means to grift their pockets.. ..such as grants for shelters and using over priced methods of containing homelessness while providing minimal impacts so the issue can go on and they can maintain a means to say 'its still a problem' when infact our methods of solving that problem have lately been very ineffective and the cost to correct it only continues to increase.

I feel lately both political parties have become so attached to their beliefs and political figures that we are no longer willing to hold accountability, look into money trails, watch spending methods, we just take them for face granted hoping they will solve it all for us.. ..but we have become pawns in a much larger machine designed to feed the rich and make them richer.. ..and the sense of irony is that these are the very social problems we are striving to defeat and instead we're fueling it.

All that cogent info based on no premise unfortunately. It's a labor issue. That's the reality. It's not a lib, con, moderate, class or race matter. It's a labor matter. We are in denial about our need to outsource for cheap labor, whether it's to China, Malaysia, Bangladesh or Fresno. We let them in, we let them stay, we get them licenses, both parties, for over 50 years. Why? We need the labor. As usual, you want to solve a problem, follow the lobbyists and crony capitalist hacks. We systemically export jobs, import labor and all anyone can think of is "dose damn illegals." Wanna get rid of illegals? Have more kids and raise them to grab those lucrative lettuce picking gigs.

I also can't wait for the day the business owners are perp walked on news 12 for hiring illegal undocumented workers.

I'm waiting for the person on here to agree to pay 40k for a roof. Or 50 bucks for a package of chicken. 20 bucks for head of lettuce. Get real...... I'm not going on a roof or picking fruits and veggies for anything less than 40 an hour. It's hot and buggy out there ...... And I can't play with my phone. Matter of fact my garbage men don't even speak english....... Hmmmmm. Seems like even waste management guys from the old country have gotten in on it.
Again, so much hyperbole in one post.

I don't enjoy "cheap hard working labor". In fact, when we owned our house, we only hired licensed and insured companies. We would even point blank ask companies if they use day labor. If they did so, we didn't hire them. You must have missed the thread where I pointed out that in many states if you have someone working on your property who isn't licensed and insured and that person has an accident while on your property, you homeowners insurance won't pay for it. Suddenly that cheap labor isn't so cheap at all.

Plus, illegals are known for doing shoddy work and cutting corners. My brother used to have a tree trimming business on Long Island. He told me that many of his jobs were customers calling him because the illegals they used did shoddy work that needed to be fixed.

40k for a roof---I'm sure that for a very large house that's expected. 50 bucks for a package of chicken---gimme a break! You also don't know that meat and poultry processing plants have been raided so much that now most of the workers are refugees and people from the US Trust Territories.

Most Americans want year round employment so they won't gravitate to seasonal work. There is a guest worker visa program with no caps on it for agricultural work. Farmers who use the visa program have no problems getting their crops picked while sleazy farmers who instead opt for cheap, exploitable, illegal labor are the ones who have problems when raids happen.

If you think Americans aren't doing those jobs you listed, think again. Try peeking into the BOH at a restaurant. You often see Americans there. Even in immigrant-heavy cities you will see Americans cleaning the hotel rooms. Open your eyes. When we could travel, we would chat with housekeeping staff so IOW we notice who is doing those jobs.

Would you tell your own children to go pick fruit or stand in front of home depot????
I would never tell my child to stand outside Home Depot. It's not a safe thing to do. Besides, my child is a US citizen and can get a decent job due to that.

Pick fruit during the summer? Why not? Why do you look down on honest work? Did you know that in The Heartland, American kids spend their summers working on farms to earn money.

So much anecdotal "opinion" that in no way deals in reality. You "often" see an American BOH in a restaurant!!?! hahahaha that's too funny! How "often?" lol. The only reason some farmers are not hurting for labor is because they were tariffed out of production and are now on welfare and not producing anything.

ONE MORE TIME: Show me the employer dinged for hiring illegals. Munch goes the popcorn.

You are the one who doesn't deal in reality. Yes, I often see Americans doing BOH jobs. And, yes, often enough. Not only that, it happens in fast food places all the way up the line to upscale places. Don't you think there are Americans who want to be chefs and get their start working as line cooks?

Others have given you examples of employers being dinged for hiring illegals. Personally, I think they should all be dinged a lot harder than they are. Plus they should all be forced to use E-verify. Put down the popcorn and read through this thread.

BTW, do you live on a street that has flophouses filled with illegal aliens? I'm guessing that you don't which explains how out of touch you are when it comes to this issue.

As for farmers, did you know that more and more of them are turning to automation? Did you know that there are now machines that can pick delicate produce such as raspberries? Again, put down the popcorn and check out the YouTube videos that show such machines at work.

Yep. Farm automation is evolving at a rapid pace, it’s only a matter of time before these illegal labor harvesting jobs evaporate due to automation.

They're "illegal" just because it's better for the system to keep them like that.
I'm sure your life style is 10 times better than theirs.
How dare you say that the illegals work harder than we do.
Maybe you sat on your ass. I'll bet 99% of the other members here worked long and hard for what they have.
Not give me free $hit like they do.

Sure buddy..... Tell your kids to go pick fruit and stand in front of home depot. Tell your kids to scrub McMansions and cut grass. I will believe it when I see it. Nobody raises their kids to do that kind of work anymore. We don't even raise our kids to flip burgers anymore. It's frowned upon unless you are WTrash or "Ghetto". It's tradesman, college or Cop.

When I was growing up I was told straight up by my parents that they didn't send me to private school and college to dig holes and man the fries.

Again. Tell me who is going to do those jobs so you can enjoy your nice juicy steak.

Wrong. Kids who are raised properly know that and understand that there is value in all honest work.

That said, as I previously mentioned I wouldn't want my kid standing outside Home Depot the getting in a vehicle with strangers. Anyone who does that type of work and is an American citizen or legal immigrant can find such work by applying with companies or going to employment agencies.

Our daughter, while in college, cleaned hotel rooms and also worked as a nursing home assistant. She had no problems doing honest work. Stop stereotyping all American kids. Plus some of those jobs can be done by those who are mentally disabled. My cousin's autistic daughter worked at a nursing home bringing meals to patients. Every time an illegal takes such a job, it means that a mentally disabled person loses out.

So...you went to private school. That says a lot about your attitude towards such jobs. You never had to do such jobs in high or college. That explains why you don't believe that there are Americans who do such jobs.
