This is why we have 123ish school districts! If we had County or Township districts they would be funneling these border jumpers into the " the better" Asian/Caucasian districts. Since these districts are generally expensive w/ little to no rentals they all go to the usual neighborhoods. Send em all back. Obama deported more than anyone, Sleepy Joe should do the same. LGB

Wow Churro ladies on the North Shore. That is pretty wild. Just doing the jobs Americans won't do.

At least they are working, not like some of those pathetic pan handlers with their kids in the Walmart parking lots.

I did not even know there was a demand for drive by Churros in the North Shore. But they are there selling every day so obviously people are buying. Very enterprising.

I detect a note of sarcasm. But quite seriously, it's a problem when one level of government dumps a problem on another level of government. Let me explain.

Under a Supreme Court decision, Arizona et. al. v. United States, 567 U.S. 387 (2012) the Court, in disallowing State enforcement of immigration law stated:
Quote:
Federal law makes a single sovereign responsible for maintaining a comprehensive and unified system to keeptrack of aliens within the Nation’s borders. If §3 of the Arizona statute were valid, every State could give itself independent authority to prosecute federal registration violations, “diminish[ing] the [Federal Government]’s control over enforcement†and “detract[ing] from the ‘integrated scheme of regulation’ created by Congress.†(citation omitted). Even if a State may make violation of federal law a crime in some instances, it cannot do so in a field (like the field of alien registration) that has been occupied by federal law. (citation omitted).
Thus a state is powerless to exclude illegal immigrants. The problem is that the states that the people wind up in require services and benefits. So if the Federal Government flies them to Long Island, those people become New York's or the localities' problem to deal with, given that almost all of them have no money and few means to obtain employment. From the 1920's on the Federal Government has regulated immigration, at least in theory. In recent years, ideologically driven executive departments have torn gaping holes in the structure of such laws, but significantly not paid for the expenses foisted on other political subdivisions.

Here's an example of the young children who come here for a better life. Awww.

https://www.newsday.com/long-island/...ice-1.50367250

If he is 22 now he would have been 15/16 at the time. And before someone says how do you know he was illegal, Newsday would never mention that tidbit in their story.
So many of these stories impacting black/brown communities on the Island...who will advocate for them.
