I'm sure the whole LIE would qualify but I think a thread pointing out where the big ones are could save your fellow neighbors car.

Huge pothole about 6 inches deep at entrance to Exit 62 west from Nichols road south. Right when you merge with service road. Needed a flatbed after that one.

The state of these roads are just mind blowing. If they don't mind blowing.

Also if you have a Sportscar or sport sedan the entrance to the sagitos/sunken meadow from the LIE is like driving over a cobblestone street at 65 MPH.

We've gotten stuck on the Southern State Parkway twice now in a crawling traffic due to the trucks closing lanes for pothole repairs, so your jammed if you do, slammed if you don't regarding fixing them...

Maybe it's because Long Island is flat, so the water just lies on the roads with on runoff, compromising the pavement...

Ouch. Thanks.

I figure that it's impossible to post the location of all the potholes but we can at least point out the ones that will end your commute suddenly.

Anyone old enough to remember the Cross Bronx 25+ years ago? I feel like it's come to that on LI.

Hawkins Road headed to Ronkonkoma station from the LIE . Bad 3 inch deep potholes . Not deep enough to damage a SUV but deep enough to damage your sedan. Beware and avoid them slowly. You wit one of those at 35-40 MPH and you will either bubble your tire or blow it out.

Last Thursday there was 5 cars on of the side of the road east bound with flat tires. This was just from Exit 60 to Exit 49 for the 20 minutes I am in the road. I can’t imagine how many there are throughout the day heading in both directions.

Today there was only 3

I agree these patch Jobs do nothing. Repave the roads! The patch jobs do not last. Sunrise HWY service road in West Islip is terrible going west bound by that dealership. I feel like I am off roading. LOL. Last year I hit a pot hole and bent my rim. Husband was not too happy. Some are hard to avoid so I try and go slow over them. Route 109 in Farmingdale is no picnic either.

Thanks for pointing out the potholes by West Islip. I have family and friends and coworkers all over Suffolk so this is extremely helpful.

I have extreme anxiety driving at night now. Last time I hit a bad pothole it cost me 1000 and change to repair. Had to repair both rims and buy two large 19 inch tires. Went with a SUV after that. Not going back to a car.

The patch jobs just ruin windshields and chip paint that you will responsible for when you return the lease.

You would think we were at war with Putin with the condition of these roads.
