Well, he can fire the DA.

The bizarre and contrived abortion scare to frighten voters from Zeldin isn’t going anywhere. Turns out economy and crime are a billion times more relevant to the average NY voter. Who knew?

So the Dems are panicking and doing the “Orange Man Bad” routine on Zeldin. Still not working. Economy and Crime.

Maybe concerns with the economy and crime will make more city folks turn to Zeldin. But many of them voted DeBlasio (twice!!).

Oddly enough, the Dem leader (Biden) is not stumping in NY. Hmmmmm…

If NY is up for grabs it doesn’t take a genius to realize the trend in moderate states

I agree with you on Trump but Zeldin? Why?

Here is an interview with Zeldin of exactly what he voted against and why. Seems reasonable, no?

Here is a NYT article about Zeldin, hyperbole galore!
https://www.nytimes.com/2022/10/19/n...nuary-6th.html
Zeldin Built His Profile Defending Trump. Will New Yorkers Mind?
Lee Zeldin, a Republican congressman from Long Island, voted to overturn 2020 election results and blamed Democrats for Jan. 6 violence. Now, he wants to lead New York State.

He did build his profile defending Trump, he did NOT vote to overturn the 2020 election results and I didn't see explicit evidence in the article that Zeldin blamed Democrats for Jan. 6 violence.

The article does state the following:
But Mr. Zeldin does not appear to have joined a series of meetings and calls among allies to plot how to keep Mr. Trump in office, actions that have entangled some congressional colleagues in high-profile investigations.

It seems the NYT has a difficult time writing the story to support the headline.

The Manhattan DA, yes although I’m sure it will be immediately challenged in court.

Zeldin was one of 139 house members who voted against certifying results, in his case it was PA and AZ, both those states had several recounts even hand recounts. Why would he blame anyone other than Trump.

Quote:
“This isn’t just about the president of the United States,” he said, referring to what prompted the riot that he condemned. “This is about people on the left and their double standards.”

The comments — blaming Democrats and “rogue state actors,” not Mr. Trump, for undermining confidence in the election — drew little attention at the time. Soon after, Mr. Zeldin would join 146 other Republicans in seeking to overturn Joe Biden’s victory in key states.

If not for his views on Trump on Jan 6 and abortion he would have had a chance.

There were democrats that tried to object to the electoral college results for Bush, (both times), and Trump in 2016.

And as was said before the abortion thing is so ridiculous on its face even if Zeldin wins he won’t be able to do a thing to existing abortion law with a (hopefully narrower) democrat majority legislature. Nor is abortion even a main focus to his campaign.

I can barely say I’m a republican due to Trump. The man is a self absorbed narcissist that thinks the world revolves around him.
Let's see how that ridiculous thought process holds up for you/your family and friends when someone from Freeport, Uniondale, etc, etc, car jacks you or worse. Oh, and btw, the perp is 100% going to be a Biden supporter. Go figure.

Republicans nationwide have flipped the script to demand answers as to what abortion restrictions, if any at all, their opponents support. And the squirming and double-talk ensues. Boy, the Dems (and their public relations firm - the main stream media) just despise that perfectly legitimate question.

And back we go to economy and crime.
