Ok then! No whataboutism and no fallacy. But. There is something else.

Don't you folks always argue that a certain...segment of New Yorkers (and Americans in general) vote for whoever has the (D) next to their name on the ballot, no matter how much of a lying slimeball said (D) may be? Seems you might not be so different from these other New Yorkers/Americans after all

Merry Christmas.

That is the only explanation for the otherwise inexplicable election and re-election (!) of one Bill DeBlasio.

Hmmm sure sounds like whataboutism to me.

Nope. I thought DeBlasio was awful in so many directions at once. Between an overtly soft on crime series of decisions to a constant stream of of divisive and damaging racial theories he really encapsulated the modern Left. But Dems pulled the lever for him (twice!) in NYC. Not me.

Blumenthal exaggerated his service. He served stateside and never was in Vietnam. I think this was pretty damn egregious and ridiculous. Not an honest mistake. He should be ashamed.

Santos' entire life story is a fabrication, from his education, to his work history, to his whole background and public persona. As bad as Blumenthal's lie was, Santos amazingly is in a whole different universe. Not even close. And that says a lot, because I think what Blumenthal did was quite bad.

And I still don't get why he did it. As a republican, if he said he barely finished highschool, went to the "school of hard knocks", shared conspiracy theories, and railed against the liberal elite in education and business, he would have endeared himself more to his target base. Instead, he tried to pretend he was a typical liberal elite.

Yes, the lib narrative is that there are few Hispanics and few openly gay Republican supporters. Santos presented himself as both. And Jewish. And won.

It would be hypocrisy if you could point out a candidate who lied on his resume to the extent of Santos.
Instead in a desperate attempt they are resurrecting Blumental from over a decade ago as if that makes the case. Hey what about Blumenthal.

Pretty much why we end up with lousy politicians in office like Mangano and Steve Levy, you can always find a way to overlook lies if they are on your team.
