The district actually turned slightly more republican in the re-districting it’s not as blue as it was. As for a presidential election year that could easily go both ways especially if Biden is still on top of the ticket which is now looking very likely. Santos won by 8 points that’s not a fluke. 1-3 points is a fluke. Don’t count your chickens just yet 2 years is an eternity in politics and the electorate has the attention span of a gnat.
This is assuming of course that he didn't break any campaign finance laws, because if he did the investigations will be far more reaching and likely prevent him from being able to carry out his duties faithfully if he's fighting multiple legal battles at the same time.

And yes the district went from D+6 to D+4, slightly less blue but the dems have an advantage here if they actually try to win. IMO the Nassau GOP just handed them this seat for 2024 on a silver platter but we'll see.

There’s no evidence he broke any campaign finance laws and even if he did they are usually just civil penalties (the trump campaign broke plenty) no one went to jail. Lol all he has to do is vote. He’s just a congressman he isn’t running anything.

The Dems are really cranking up the faux outrage on this one.

Elizabeth Warren is literally on the warpath.

Too soon?

“Liberals are tying themselves in knots to explain how Biden’s false stories are mere exaggerations, or instances of Grandpa’s getting confused, while Santos’s lies require an automatic expulsion from Congress.”

The investigations have barely started. Let's see what happens.

Just below this quote:
"MSNBC’s Chris Hayes attempted to draw such a distinction: “I think there’s a line between ‘normal’ politician bs-ing and ****** serial lying, and he’s got infractions on either side of that line. I mean it would have been a pretty big deal if it turned out Joe Biden didn’t actually have a law degree!”

This is a pretty good article actually that raises some good questions:

"Imagine if we had an honest president. In that case, would Republicans want George Santos to take the oath of office on January 3, or would they tell the voters of New York’s third congressional district, “Nope, this guy is no good, go find somebody else”?

Or would they want to leave his fate in the hands of the voters, to be evaluated in the 2024 Republican congressional primary and/or general election?

New York’s third congressional district scores a D+3 on the Cook Partisan Voting Index, and Biden carried the district 54 percent to 44 percent in 2020. In other words, Santos’s victory (52 percent to 44 percent) in 2022 was an upset, a pleasant surprise for a GOP that didn’t get many other pleasant surprises in the midterms. If Santos were to resign, there’s no guarantee that a Republican candidate would replace him.

If the GOP had won a massive House majority in 2022, would Republicans feel differently about Santos’s remaining in the House? If this district was in Wyoming and represented a lock for whichever Republican won the primary, would they feel differently?"

@peconic117

I have you on my ignore list but someone replied to one of your posts.
There's absolutely nothing that Will convince you of wrongdoing if it comes from the Republican party, is there?
Seriously, you need to do some introspection.

I said exactly that in a previous post. If the GOP had a big majority Santos would likely be toast. There would be condemnation from the GOP and big pressure on him to resign. That’s not the case though, in fact Santos has leverage on McCarthy who needs every single vote to become speaker. It’s called politics, a dirty business and don’t think for a second the dems wouldn’t be doing the same thing if all roles were reversed. If you don’t believe that you are truly delusional.
