I remember visiting Pittsburgh a couple years ago and they had cheap yuengling on draft . Some places did like $1.50 promotions crazy .
Florida has some cheap bar prices but they are behind on the craft beers versus LA .
2 bucks.

Two Bucks Milwaukee | Locations | Two Bucks

You could get any Mke brewing company beer for $2 as well as any well drink.

It seems they have about 1/2 a dozen locations in the mid west.

No it really doesn't lack these kinds of bars. Maybe not as many as Chicago, but definitely plenty.

I was born and raised in LA. I moved away when I was 33.

I miss:

The beach
Catalina Island
Mexican food
Fruits and vegetables
Griffith Park
Greek Theater
Hollywood Bowl
Cool evenings in summer
Palm trees
Crab Louie salads
Knudsen's cottage cheese

What I miss about Los Angeles is the traffic the way it was in the mid-80s, when I left. We thought it was bad then. We had no idea how much worse it was going to get.

I miss Hamburger Hamlet, Love's BBQ, CC Brown's. I miss seeing "Star Wars" on opening day at the Chinese Theater. I miss people like Mike Jittlov.

Interesting responses here. Have made me realize there are more things I miss about LA than I thought!

Nope, it wouldn't be good financially for me. But I'll be back visiting in the winter just as I was in January.

Dude, I've lived here MY WHOLE LIFE (save for a couple months in DC, more a long vacation but it was my first attempt at college) and what you're saying doesn't ring with me and probably most of the people here that are natives. True, I lived (and live) in the suburbs or Orange County but have LA roots in the family and am familiar enough with the place. Your talk of lower rents and less traffic pales in the face of that feeling of "home".

You sound like misery that wants company.
