Wendy's ... Not by me at least . The Wendy's near my local in n out served me cold fries last time I went . Not sure if it's just that location or across the board .
Also their prices are about 50 percent more expensive last time I checked .
It's like over $9 for a combo meal now ....
Not a great value ...
Food should not be served cold straight out of the drive through.

I know I would miss the good food.

Beaches are nice but the water is too cold. I'd miss the hills and the weather the most.

This city is my favorite city in all the world. But oh man the job market and costs are not what I'd miss at all

I thought you were being paid over and above what is normal for your position?

L.A is the underdog of big cities and likely the most misunderstood.
Been living here my whole life and still discovering new things about it.
Pretty amazing...
If you aren't fascinated by L.A...you are probably doing it wrong..
This!

I dont know how many times i've had people look at me like "why?" when I told them I'll be moving there soon.

One of the times the person was saying all the bad things shes heard and I go "well have you ever been there?" Nope. I told her to visit LA and you'll love it.

I am completely fascinated by LA. I find the history of the city to be so unlike any other city. I know more about LA's history then I do NYC which is about 20-30 minutes away from me, and a place I hardly ever go to anymore.

I am but it's not like I still don't get irritated by rising rents and gas prices. I just get this "yeah right" feeling when the leasing agent was trying to sell me on the new "renovated" apts which basically had cheap tile meant to look hardwood, some new appliances and a cheap countertops. Everything else is exactly the same and the guy though I'd been born yesterday. But don't worry I sucked it up and said I live in LA so that's that. You'd be proud.

Compared to what may have been there previously that might be renovated.

If that unit was overpriced relative to the market then go sign a contract on a different one.

They sprung this change on me a month and half prior to when I have to take the apt. They messed up on giving me 60 days. They have me no other options. They said stay in your unrenovated apt for the same price as a new one. I'm just gonna suck it up and sign for the year and find a place elsewhere. They tried to get me to sign for six months but I said hell no and got the year.

I'm going to Toluca lake. I found a nice place, older but nicer next to all the nice spots for 200 cheaper.

Yeah that's one thing about L.A a lot of the construction is older. It's expensive and a pain to build new here ...and there is enough demand that people are willing to rent even if it's not a newer building.

When I moved into my hollywood place it was an old building..but it was nice because it had new laminate floors ,a new stove and stuff..and the rent was cheap like $1100 for a 1 bedroom.

I only lived there a year though.
The building was mostly filled with retired eastern european/russian immigrants.
One lady didn't even know realize I didn't speak Russian until the day I moved out.
She decided to make conversation with me for the first time in a whole year when I was trying to get a refrigerator down the stairs!...perfect timing!

Toluca Lake is really nice...it looks like there's a lot of new stuff that has opened up on Riverside drive too.
You're also not far from Hollywood and other areas if you want more action too.
Lot's of places opening in Sherman Oaks/ Studio city on Ventura blvd too.
Nice to see ...as there were always different restaurants there but they weren't that interesting really.
