Yes. And the result will be more and more gated communities, more private guards, and of course, feudalism, etc. The government falsely assumes its citizens act like Swedes. LOL. Obviously that is not the case and Swedish style law enforcement doesn't even work in Sweden (where there are so many immigrants) let alone in still wild California.

If the government cannot take control, businesses will eventually call in the mob to take care of things.

We all also need C & C.

Sweden is a very safe country, I have relatives there and talk to them frequently. You should stay away from Breitbart and their fear mongering BS

All LE actually does this...or at least used to before California imbeciles voted in prop 47.

Anyway, let’s get this thread back on topic. Placing blame for the explosion of LA’s homeless squarely where it belongs...on Eric Garcetti.

There are tents that stay up all day and night, and I know because I drive by them on a regular basis.

The only thing I see as a short term solution for LA is tent cities with an armed guard at the entrance with a metal detector to avoid having people bring in guns or knives. Once they are inside let them do what they want, provide them with porta potties and fresh drinking water and that's it. Or, you can leave them on the sidewalk and whine about it.

Ever notice how the people that don't live in L.A are the ones that usually jump on threads as the strongest homeless advocates for this city?

No, the Police did not investigate shoplifting and bicycle thefts before prop 47. And LA had a big homeless problem before Garcetti, I don't particularly like the guy but it's just silly to blame him for the homeless problem.

I don't think there are easy answers to this, and I don't think you can pin it on one person or a single cause. One of the biggest problem is the increase in rent. Between 2001 and 2017 there were 22484 Ellis Act evictions in the LA area. There are a number of articles about it here: https://la.curbed.com/ellis-act

Other issues include a lack of drug/alcohol rehabs & sober living facilities, the difficulties faced in finding a job and housing after being released from jail or prison, and the failure of our mental health system.

Then call the Police and report them, I don't have any good answers for you. The same thing goes on in Sacramento, Discovery Park has basically become a homeless city and yesterday while driving on 50 I saw two tents set up on the side of the freeway.
