IT'S TOO DRY! OMG I feel sorry for the plants, trees etc. it's too dry!
The weather would be the best if the city had more rainfall, 380 mm yearly precip. is too little... around 500 mm would be perfect!
Specially in the summer.... it doesn't even rain... it's boring without any rain lol
I'll trade the dry Mediterranean climate for the bugs, humidity, mold and mud. If you want rain, this isn't the place to come. Native plants do fine. Others need to be watered.

Not for nothin', but I'm not sure why you care, given you don't live in LA (and I really don't mean that to be rude, i'm just sayin').

I used to live in the LA area and I agree that it is pretty dry. Someone said it well though, native plants live and others need to be watered. It's no big deal. The heat is what killed me, not the dryness. I love the rain, but definitely didn't enjoy driving in it on the 405. So, I'd pick dry in LA anyday. Rainy elsewhere maybe, but I think dry in LA works just fine. (minus the fire issue ehhh :-( so sad)

WoW, this is a really old thread. It has been really chilly at night lately [some records broken] but it will dramatically shift toward heat this weekend. In-fact, it will be downright hot!

This is a silly topic. The only reason I don't like LA's climate is because I've been here so long that I'm bored. I've been trying and trying and trying to find some other city to relocate to, and I've finally realized that there is NO place in the country that I can relocate to that won't involve some sacrifice of good weather. Every place else is too cold, too hot, has tornadoes or hurricanes, has too much snow or floods or miserable humidity in the summer.

Southern California has the best climate in the nation.
