6am

60s in Maine, 50s in Florida right now.

That's because the Jet stream is diving south and the cold front hasn't past us yet AND there is a storm off the Maine coast. So front is delayed for New England but will pass when storm leaves.

Temps at 4500', You can see why it's snowing in West Virginia; -1C at 850mb but not a lot of moisture around so its light. Yes, I said snowing in West Virginia Mountains.

Also, notice the Adirondacks! The freezing line is moving East inching closer and closer! Rain will change to snow any hour now.

So basically colder in the Tennessee mountains then Maine this morning

Here in Aurora, ME, 64F, degrees, Dew point 62F Degrees. Winds - South 16MPH - Gusts -23MPH. The kind of clouds that look like it would snow if it was colder!

Been watching things get a little BREEZY and it's feeling down right balmy! "Huh?" I thought! So I checked in with our local weather and discovered this!

Severe Weather Alerts - Aurora, ME

Special Weather Statement
Special Weather Statement in effect until 9:00 PM EDT. Source: U.S. National Weather Service

...STRONG WIND GUSTS EXPECTED LATER THIS EVENING THROUGH MIDNIGHT...

SOUTH WINDS ARE EXPECTED TO INCREASE LATER THIS EVENING THROUGH
MIDNIGHT ACROSS EASTERN MAINE. SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF 20 TO 30
MPH WITH GUSTS UP TO 45 MPH CAN BE EXPECTED. DUE TO THE EARLIER
HEAVY RAINFALL AND LEAVES STILL ON THE TREES...THESE WINDS COULD
LEAD TO SOME DOWNED TREES AND POSSIBLE POWER OUTAGES.

Swell! Was a little late in doing the laundry today due to a necessary trip into Bangor/Brewer....Here's hoping the electricity holds (especially the Internet - our mainline to civilization)!

Thankful almost all the leaves have dropped here...Think we'll have a nice hot, Toddy, and settle in for the night!

Here in Aurora, ME...47F Degrees...Winds SW16MPH, Gusts 41MPH..and there is still a High Wind Advisory for our area until 11:00pm..Tonight's low 35F Degrees...

Fragrances of sausage, bacon and corned beef waif through the house...Usually cook the sausage and bacon on Saturdays (for our Microwave Souffle's breakfast during the week at 4:00am and stir it in with the butter, eggs, and heavy cream), however, I'm a day late with this and the laundry...Still, all-in-all, a wonderful weekend! Looking forward to a cooler week - Highs in the 40Fs and lows in the 30Fs - will have to wear long sleeves and pants instead of short sleeves and exercise capris at the bakery this week!
Loving the Chill!
