Congrats!

As was mentioned, get searching and find a place...quickly...12mo ahead is not unreasonable to book; esp in leaf season.

Read up on the rules of getting a marriage license in MA. You need to get one from a town hall (any town hall will do) and prices to vary. I do not know if you have to be in person or not. Also, read up on the latest rules for how long it is valid. We had friends from NJ who got married in MA back in 2001 but they got their license (or maybe it was the blood test?) too early...it was only good for like 30 days and they needed to do it over again!

Many years ago my husband's brother got married at the Wayside Inn in Sudbury, MA. It is a very romantic place but I'm not sure it is still in business. There are dozens of lovely Inns on the coast of Maine. Many specialize in weddings.

I cast my vote for Lanesboro. Though my marriage is likely over (), it was a really beautiful wedding.

Absolutely still there. I drove past a week or two ago.

I fell in love with Wequassett Inn on the Lower Cape as I am also looking for a place too but oh my, $290pp is just not feasible with a large Italian family and several family friends. Any other suggestions that are located near water? A fire pit would be a huge plus but isn't a necessity. Any help would be appreciated. Any where in MA is fine.
