So if I go on a walk with my 4 and 5 yr old do we all need to wear a mask?

Depends where you live. In Somerville or Cambridge, yes.

4 and 5 year olds are not required to wear masks in Cambridge, even under the new virtue signaling order passed down last night.

Why wouldn't they? I would guess they use their respiratory system to breath. If there are age requirements attached to the mask rule, yeah, it's just for appearances.

I have seen general mask recommendations that say not to wear a mask if unable to remove it by oneself, so that would count for very young children.

Im a little suprised they didn’t extend it until the end of May or June. The Bay Area’s is until the end of May.
