This country is truly amazing. We have some of the best and brightest and can have some remarkable innovation that is widely applauded.

Yet there are those without even rudimentary scientific or statistical education that will lambast brilliant professionals when they do their jobs and announce their findings just because it doesn't fit the narratives they have entrenched in their heads.

I would have thought even high school grads with even AP bio or chem would fundamentally understand while correlation is not causation.

I have observed something similar in RI (Except that our curve is already much much worse than in the spring). I am reluctant to get my hopes up. In particular, I wonder if it has to do with testing behavior - that so many people that want to get tested before Thanksgiving and made advance appointments are displacing those who have symptoms and find it difficult to find testing appointments. I don't know, and haven't seen it discussed.

Check how many people were tested however in today's count. It was half of yesterday's count. The percentage positive is still over 3%.

Don't be surprised if nobody understands the significance of 2 unattributed numbers devoid of any argument or context.

Less than half the tests reported yesterday than average last week.

Unfortunately, every friend who works in healthcare across the state is reporting that this weekend was worse than last week. It's just not showing up in the numbers yet. :\
