Boston police have had their own issues with OT abuse though. There's also been articles in the paper over the past few weeks about Boston police committing crimes (drunk driving was mentioned) and little happens to them. I again dont think that cutting the OT budget will do anything to help cops who have a drinking issue...and it just punishes everyone. I know someone who is Boston cop and he cannot wait to retire with how liberal Boston has become.

It will certainly change things, but probably not in any matter that people like id77 would have ever hoped for.

In the end it's the public who will be punished, when there aren't enough officers on the road so the response times go through the roof (and what little proactive policing remains will be gone). "Punishing everybody" and throwing the baby out with the bathwater is how the left operates these days. Like for every new restriction placed on law abiding gun owners, the more they look the other way when thugs use guns illegally.

And thankfully there are people out there like me who disagree with this.

And what exactly is it that you think they are covering up?

Would you really tell your boss if your co worker stole something like a few hours here and there? I'd be minding my own business and that wouldnt make me a bad person.

Now if a cop raped a co worker and i saw it happen then yes, that's something i should tell about...but that's not what we're talking about here.

Clearly you don't think the punishment of theft and corruption on the public is enough?

No cops absolutely should be held to a higher moral standard than the general public. Of course it takes a lot of courage to rat on somebody, and I can see why the consequences could be more severe than in most occupations.

Even more confused now. You think YOU the public should suffer twice AFTER being stolen from? I don't live in Boston, so TBH I could care less. Enjoy.
