Not racist: People in the US of Asian descent perform measurably better on average than groups from other ethnic backgrounds.

Also not racist: Some countries put a greater cultural emphasis on being good at math and science than we do in the US. That translates into greater support for science and math education and greater overall success in those subjects.

Yes, and a reason MA is such a magnet for the wealth that it is. Even some of the 'average' MA public schools would be top 10 if not number 1 in most other states.

Alas, MA is but one of 50 states, and not one of the big ones at that. Unless much, much more of the US gets in gear, the US as a whole is only going to fall further and further behind.

Exactly - everyone who did that in Boston is now sitting on $400K+ worth of equity and probably a ton of extra savings because their mortgage is half of what the current rent would be.

Depends on the school district - some teach this at elementary school level, others have high schoolers who can barely add and subtract.

Damn I wish I knew anything about buying property or investing back then. I had 90k in the bank when I started grad school in 2011. I paid my tuition instead

Lol, no. Way off. Asians IQ scores run about 104 and white people run about 100 on average.

Ashkenazi Jews average 115.

During WWII, Japan sent college students to be cannon fodder at some point, but STEM students were exempted.

All of the recent three presidents of China studied engineering. Engineers have a higher prestige than lawyers and doctors.
