As pointed out earlier the seller can negotiate the seller commission with his or her agent.
Is a home seller going to want to negotiate a commission with a buyer's agent every time one wants to bring a potential buyer around?

I don't want that extra work. I'd rather list with an agent, pay them the commission, and I don't care how it's split.

I think the goal is to get to a point where the seller pays the seller's agent and the buyer pays the buyer's agent.

??? so in 2023 it's no longer possible for people of lower income status to move? People used to ride in horse and buggy across several states in the 1800's to make it work. Hogwash that people today are incapable of moving to an area they can afford and get a a job. They just don't WANT to. People today are lazy.

If I am buying a house, I'd be capable of doing it without the need of a buyer's agent so why even pay one at all? Unless you don't have negotiating skills or maybe if it's your first home purchase and you don't know what to look out for, buyers agents are kind of useless.

With how much a house costs these days around here and the mortgage rates I would think people would want to do it themselves where they can.

It's November...and with mortgage rates this doesn't come as a surprise.

Sure, go without one. The point is to not force the seller to pay a commission for an agent he or she is not working with.

I'm not paying commission if I'm buying a house. What is a buyer's agent even for? I find the listings myself on Zillow and go straight to the sellers agent anyway.

Then the entire commission goes to the seller's agent, who is looking out for the seller's interests and not yours. Not the smartest. You want somebody representing you as well.

Yeah it's normal for prices to slow down in fall. Let's see if prices drop in the spring. I don't think they will, neither do the experts.
