And what is your point? It is another made up disease that psychologists use for fear mongering. "Ught oh you might be a sociopath. Lets get you on 4 medications and incarcerated".

I had a roommate like this. Only he was passive aggressive. He did all sorts of irritating things to belittle me. Then he would act innocent. He seriously would harass me. Then a day later announce how he was going to go do community service with his church group. The SOB.

My niece (11) is BPD, although my SIL is in total denial...it's hell living with that child. I feel really bad for her.

Maybe your SIL has contributed to it? Children often reflect their own parents.

I was "diagnosed" with it. And they literally told me that a sarcastic sense of humor was one of my symptoms. And even though I was supposed to have such and such a number of symptoms to be "diagnosed" and I was 3 below that, they thought I had it anyways. Seemed like a complete crock to me. I honestly don't even understand what BPD is or does..?

wow, now that I've read this thread I'm really offended! haha. I am NOT a liar. And I'm not incapable of genuine emotion. However, I am sometimes bored...haha that's one symptoms.. that was a little sarcastic, let's tack on another one!

Sorry for people who are living with an unbearable person, especially a parent, and I don't mean to be insesitive, just telling my (limited) side of the BPD story.

I am glad you are working on a way to deal with this. My ex was somewhere in the mix of BPD and NPD. I cant imagine living with a parent that way. At least I could totally seperate myself from him once I realized what was going on (which took years). It is difficult to accept that you cant help them and there is no hope. It is even harder when you are faced with such skepticism because BPD is so vauge and hard to pin down.

It is stupid. Bill Maher is sarcastic as hell and unconventional. Does he have borderline personality disorder too lol. It should be called the mental health unprofession.

Like I said a hundred times. An unethical, mean, and or constantly rude person is not a disease or a mental illness.

Artsyguy,

As a sufferer of BPD myself, I can tell you it is definitely a mental illness. It changes the way you think, not just act. Also, most sufferers, myself included, have other mental disorders which compounds it.
