First of all, Miami is a city and CA is a state. Might want to compare oranges to oranges.

Second, they don't call this site City-Data for nothing. You can find weather info for the cities you are interested right here, just not in the forum section.

For example, info for Miami found at: //www.city-data.com/city/Miami-Florida.html

Info for LA found at: //www.city-data.com/city/Los-An...alifornia.html

Google more?

You realize that there's no exact number for each city, and that it varies from year to year, right?

Multiply the percentage for any given month by the number of days in the month. At this point I'd like to thank my 5th grade math teacher if I could remember her name.

Miami:
Annual inches of precipitation is 60.0 inches
Annual days of precipitation is 129 days
Annual days mostly sunny 248 days

San Diego:
Annual inches of precipitation is 9.0 inches
Annual days of precipitation is 41 days
Annual days mostly sunny 268 days

LA:
Annual inches of precipitation is 12.0 inches

The post by Doggiebus above is good one with good facts and data.

I posted the following comparison between LA and Miami a while back. I am from LA but have always liked Miami and spent time in So. Fla.

Mrtanion, as you'll see below, Miami gets most of its rain in the summer. By comparison, LA gets what little rain it does get in the winter.

My "ideal" climate is a Miami winter and a San Diego or LA summer. Or maybe just Honolulu all year!

FROM PREVIOUS POST:
Here's the avg. monthly highs and lows for LA and Miami as well as the monthly rainfall (in inches):

LOS ANGELES:
H - L - Rain
Jan. 68 - 47 - 3.3
Feb. 70 - 50 - 3.7

Oct. 79 - 60 - 0.37
