I can't say I'm surprised at what the landlord told you since the older generations in this area are insanely prejudiced, but honestly, if you're that intimidated by Milwaukee you should probably stick to places where the people are outnumbered by cows.

So blatant prejudice should be tolerated and people who are affected should just stay quiet for the sake of maintaining a "peaceful" atmosphere? Sorry, but I actually care about my city and I'm not about to give people from out of the area who might read this the impression that crap like this is tolerated. Maybe it is in the suburbs where I'm guessing most of the people who post here are from, but the Milwaukee I come from is much better than that.

Of course there are expections....North Ave, Locust, Center, and Burleigh between Teutonia on the east and 43rd St on the west are just bad neighborhoods that no one should really have a desire to live in
