Agreed... hopefully something less "suburban" as well!

They are paving Ann Street this morning. While it isn't the complete rebuild, we will at least get a smooth road until the City has the money to rebuild the road.

I'm hearing that there are plans to build a brownstone type of development at the former recycle center site in midtown near Leinkauf. I know there are plans for brownstone style condos or apartments near the new midtown Publix.Does anyone have info on this ?

That's the first I've heard of the Leinkauf brownstones. Did you hear of these plans in the media? If so, where?

Unfortunately no but it came from a usual reliable source.

I see. Let's hope it pans out.

As for the Florida/Old Shell development (southeast corner), the only recent news I have seen is of a commercial variety - nothing residential yet.

We have a better picture on who will be joining the midtown Publix....

In addition to G Harvell, they will be getting a Rock and Roll Sushi, and a Taco Mama.

In more pedestrian offerings, there will be a nail salon, a potential cell phone franchise (hopefully a real one...not a MetroPCS type place) as well as a potential national hair care franchise (Great Clips perhaps?)

In the works is a deal to bring two regional restaurant chains as well....hopefully one is a Which Wich or something new that we don't already have..

Here's the write-up in Lagniappe...

Mentioning a nail salon made my stomach sour lol. Why does every retail center has to have a nail shop ugh .
