Whole Foods is closing their Mobile Location, along others in the country.
Not good news for Pine Brook Shopping Center
I’m willing to bet they are just gonna open somewhere else because wasn’t it like right next door to a Fresh Market, which is pretty much the same thing? Would be the same as putting a Publix across the street from a Rouses.

Not surprised, but it's not a good sign of the retail market in Mobile either. It's too close to the current Rouses and Publix locations and is way too big for a Trader Joe's unless the space is subdivided.

A longshot could be converting it into an Amazon Fresh store, especially if they're locked into a long-term lease.

Just saw that next to yet another storage facility (grand slam's new development), there is yet ANOTHER car wash being built as well.

I'm furious at all the last bits of good land in West Mobile being used for more of the same.

Whole Foods didn't even last a week! I stopped by there on Saturday and it was already locked up and cleared out. I really thought I'd have more time and I'm going to miss the variety there. Oh well, guess it's back to Fresh Market for me!

You mean Whole Foods closed a week after it opened? Or it was closed a week after it was announced that it'd be closing?

It closed a lot earlier than the announced date it was suppose to close.

I talked to former employees and they all said that the store was busy enough to remain open smh. Oh well,I was shocked that they closed the Hoover store 2 years ago which I believe was Alabama's first location.

The first Whole Foods Market location was off US 280 in Mountain Brook. The nearby Hoover location opened in 2017 and shuttered in 2020.

The day the closing was announced, everything was marked down up to half price. Pretty much over the next 2 days, the store was pretty much cleaned out of product.
It was already closed by the following Friday.
