Uncanny
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2321502/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

A nice, quiet flick....up to the last 5th. I am amazed at these people in these worlds who have such neat homes. The interior reminded me A LOT of the office area I worked in when I took over my section, so it did make it easier to get into the movie. In the end, it all comes together and leaves one with the memories of that they have seen it before, here and there.....maybe. Would I have seen those signs? I don't know for I have stopped "going into movies" to judge and just enjoy the story being presented. Say a 6.0.

Chinese film with honest to goodness subtitles, with none of that closed captioning [ door closes ] [ cat meows ] [ phone rings ] b.s. Several audio only scenes that happen behind the scenes. Great character development - which many times happen with later dialogue. Took me several sittings to stream - a 3:54 min movie.

Bell Book and Candle
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0051406...nm_flmg_act_22

I was thinking of ordering this DVD the other week.....but decided I already had spent enough at the time. Well, I was unpacking VHS today and found out I had a copy, so I popped it into one of the machines! Does this classify as a Christmas movie? What comes around, goes around when one recognizes a rarely used sound effect that is a classic to them; that is, the sound of magic is the miniaturization sound of the cartoon Fantastic Voyager. With that, a classic film that found itself in the season, and being one of more peaceful times, and easy 8.4.

Bad Education, 2019. Based on the true story of the largest public school embezzlement in American history. Good cast, interesting story.

Curse of the Dragon Slayer
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2250234/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

Well, the photography is incredible. The use of (poor, defenceless) dragons is rather light, however. At times, it is rather difficult to see where the flick is going or why a particular action was done. Subtitles could have helped, too. However, it's a nice movie to get lost in, both from concept and production values. Say a 6.7.

On the Waterfront -
"I coulda had class. I coulda been a contender. I coulda been somebody, instead of a bum, which is what I am, let's face it."
Brando brought it and the film won a boatload of well deserved Oscar's. Saw it on PBS in glorious black and white; you could feel the atmosphere.
