City of Men- it's like a spin of the City of God located in Rio. It was actually a Brazilian TV show first which followed two young boys who are best friends that lived and played in the shadows of Rio de Janiero shanty towns 8/10.

If you enjoyed City of God then you must see this- great story line

In the Valley of Elah. I think I caught a sentence in the beginning saying something about this being a true story..? It was alright overall.

Leatherheads. Not as funny as advertised, I thought. I rented mainly because of John Krasinski (sp?), but definitely a let down.

Dream Girls. Loved it! Kind of a musical, but not at all in the annoying musical way. Great performances by everyone, good storyline, and amazing vocals throughout the movie. 2 thumbs up for this one.

mammoth- 3/5 a meteor unleashes an alien in a frozen mammoth who sucks the life of out people with its snout. entertaining flick with some over the top acting. the funniest thing was this giant mammoth was able to sneak up on people and kill them, yet in the beginning of the movie they tried to play on suspense by only hearing the mammoths very loud footsteps

iron man- 4/5 a lot better then i thought it would be. i was surprised by all the deaths, usually the superhero flicks dont have a lot of killing. a nice change tbh

frankenfish- 3/5 a giant genetically engineered fish kills people who live on house boats. some creative deaths, redneck antics, and some stupid sub plots round this out to be a decent flick

rouge- 4/5 a giant croc strands a aussie tour group on a small sandbar that is slowly shirnking due to the tide. the group needs to find a way off the sandbar before they all become a tasty snack. a couple surprise deaths and some very suspenseful scenes. up to the last 15 minutes this movie was very real. the ending was a little over the top but was fun anyways

im starting to get to the end of my movies queue. now im renting cheesey creature flicks

Baby Mama - it was cheesy and predictable but it made me laugh a few times. The funniest scenes were of course the parts they showed in the preview but it was worth the $3.99 rental

A Tale of Two Sisters
Combination ghost story/psychological drama.
Somewhat difficult to follow at times, but overall it is successful.
Gorgeous production design and some great cinematography.

'The Happening'. Boy, were my husband and I p***ed that we wasted $5 and 2 hours of our life on this terrible film. Though I'm not a fan of M. Shamalyan (with the exception of 'Unbreakable'), this one was the worst one yet-even worse than 'Lady in the Water'. The movie was tedious with a ridiculous story line that made no sense, and the acting was lousy. Don't even bother with it.

10,000 BC

Rented it through cable on-demand HD. It was $5.99, but we have a coupon for $4.99, so it was a buck. I thought it was good mindless entertainment. The HD looked really nice. Fairly predictable.
